Falls has to be the best family resort in Oz - it offers a snow club for the 3-6 year olds so whether they've never seen snow or have got their snow legs they have a great place to get to know the mountain. The older kids can go to the junior workshop (7-15 year olds) - catering for all levels of kids. The ski school also runs the Falls Creek Race Club with their top instructors providing expert tuition. Once your rid of the kids, you have the whole mountain to explore - easy riders down the Wombats Ramble through to advanced skiing in The Maze or off piste on Mt Mackay. When Falls turns on the powder, the turns are on - whether it be down Summit, on Rollercoaster or Cabbage Patch where the views are spectacular. Accommodation is on mountain with a variety of options from full board, lodge rooms, B&B or apartments - most being ski-in ski-out or just a short shuttle ride to the lifts. There are no cars in the village so there is very little traffic other than oversnow shuttles. There is a choice of restaurants catering for all tastes including pub grub, pizza, cafes and fine dining.

Shortish runs for the thrillseeker

Falls Creek has a great village atmosphere and when the snow is good the skiing is terrific, but when the snow is bad, it's horrid. I would like to see more activities planned for those days when the snow is bad, like an indoor games venue with a huge water slide. For the fitness freeks perhaps a gymn to keep up their fitness level for when the snow is good.
Ski in and ski out
Snow condition unreliable

Been to Falls 3 years in a row now because its great for our familiy. All standards of skiers get plenty to be happy about and our 2 kids (now 14 & 16) have gone from intermediate skiers to beginner boarders to intermediate boarders at Falls and they have always been happy. The lift staff and the instructors all have an excellent customer service ethic (without ever becoming obsequious). Food sold at retail outlets is expensive but because all accommodation is on the mountain you can always ski back to your own accommodation and make your own lunch. Just like anywhere, foggy days and/or windy days make things not much fun but in 2009 the snow condition was so good that even poor visibility from fog couldn't stop us from getting out there - it just meant we had to slow down a bit. We live in Sydney but now bypass the closer snowfields of Perisher and Thredbo to spend another 90 mins driving to Falls. I really can't recommend Falls Creek highly enough. Enjoy !
No waiting, good variety & all on snow accommodation
Pretty quiet for night life
Falls Creek is a great Australian resort, with a cosy little village that is spectacular with fresh snow and it is all ski-in ski-out when there's snow on the roads. the terrain mix is great with really good beginner and intermediate stuff but also Australia's most innovative nadp opular terrain park on Ruined Castle, plus when the Maze and Summit have good snow the advanced skiing is great too. It will be a regular for me...
The village, the terrain parks, the terrain and the skiing was good in Sept.
the oversnow service, some of the food prices

I enjoyed my time at falls creek, i felt relaxed and clam. I did get frustrated with the lifts, i've never been on any lift so slow! The fasted lifts was the poma lifts. There were some nice runs to be found if you knew where to look (International) but not a great deal to play with. Falls Creek has a great family setup and i would defiantly recommended Falls for an Australian Ski Holiday. Note: for some reason onthesnow keeps checking the advanced box for recommended skill level even when i un-check it. This resort is not recommend to advanced skiers.
nice village,

Me and my family went to falls creek in july, IT WAS AMAZING, the snow was great. We stayed at snow ski apartments, the location was great. The summit was brilliant. The snow at scotts was really nice soft and easy to ski. great for family.
Falls Creek ski area in Australia's Victorian state is the prettiest ski village down under. The resort is pedestrian only meaning you park your car then take oversnow transport to your lodge. When the village is under snow it is pure ski in ski out. it's a two hour drive from Albury airport and gets the most snow in Australia with an average three metres a season. The resort is very family friendly with an exceptional ski school program and beginners area with a number of magic carpets and beginner lifts. Falls Creek is consistenly voted the number one terrain park by Australian Snowboarder magazine and this year is no exception with the yellow bus setting itself up for more rails and jumps. The four terrain parks at Falls Creek are graded according to ability. Falls Creek is not known for it's pitch but it does have access to Mt McKay cat skiing for some serious off piste action. Otherwise the wide open groomed runs mix it up with ungroomed snow gum tree runs over four hundred and fifty hectares of terrain. There's 28 bars in the village and a thriving apres scene.
