Coming here for 9 years, we have bad snow years, but overall, this is the best snow conditions in BC, Accommodation is a problem, and not much of a choice, Super friendly staff and nice folks to ride the chair with, made a lot of friends with the locals, we end up buying property here :-)
The Best snow in BC, Hockey arena, Skating loop, Nordic skiing, Snowshoeing

Apex mountain snow school is the best. My granddaughters had a magical 2 days at the mountain thanks to the instructors at the school. Both had never skied before and after 2 lessons they were masters of the bunny hill. A special shout out to Sebastian who brushed up on his high school sign language to be able to communicate with my Deaf granddaughter and teach her to ski. Apex is the hidden jewel in the okanagan. Thanks so much can’t say enough good things about this mountain resort
Great staff family friendly

Great locals hill, many seem to think (incorrectly) it's "little" and it is true that it isn't Whistler, or Big White or Sun Peaks but that is a good thing. There is plenty of terrain options here both on piste, and backcountry with enough challenging terrain to keep even advance skiers entertained for days. The additional activities for non-skiers including tubing, skating and snowshoeing through the extensive trail system are actually far better than options found at bigger resorts, and that also includes Nickelplate Nordic centre which is 10 mins away from Apex and a legit size x/c area. So many outdoor options here. It doesn't have a starbucks or body shop store but it has good people, small lift lines and a great local vibe. You probably won't impress the big hill snobs with this destination and that's the point.
Small crowds, variety of activities and terrain
Less apres options, village amenities

What an amazing hidden gem! This resort has everything, they catered to my friends & their kids who are just learning to ski - lessons, a bunny hill, ice skating & a tube park! While I was able to go hit some steep blues & blacks. We even found fresh powder days after it snowed! Accommodation was great, ski in ski out & affordable. Love the small local feel, friendly staff and quaint family friendly village.
Fun Apres Ski in 1 spot that EVERYONE goes too. Great powder for days (even sunny ones). Unlimited visibility. Mild temperatures
Small local hill, if you're looking for multiple Apres ski spots or lots of shopping - you'll have to head into town.

Both Chairs were off line for a lot of the day. And the High Speed Quad has been having long stops all year. We were on the crawl evacuation off of the Quad Chair. The chair ran at evacuation speed then shut down for the day. The stops are in the forty to forty five minute range. The food in the Gun Barrel sucks. Six wings for $13 and poor service. Talked to other people while spending my day on the chair and they had the same poor food at the Gun Barrel. The Edge Bistro was very good. Highly inflated snow reports.
Good Steep Terrain
Both Chair Lifts Broken

Came here for vacation with family. There are two lifts on this mountain. 1 lift is slow, the other is a high speed quad that does not work. Yesterday intermittently, today not working. Will go and try Big White instead. If you are coming to Apex for a destination, don't bother. For the Okanagan, better to go to Big White or Sun Peaks.
Not much
only 2 lifts, slow lift worked, high speed quad does not.
what a great smaller mountain...went up there just last weekend with local ski club and had a blast...apex surely doesn't boast the quantity of runs of neighbouring big white (let alone whistler) but it offers kick-ass challenge in terms of quality of runs...they have a number of very challenging blues and blacks, so if you want to really ramp up your skill level and be challenged then go for it...truly a great ''smaller'' mountain....and some good nightly entertainment and dining at both the tempest lounge and gunbarrel pub, and fresh tracks (the latter for breakfast and lunch)....not as much going on for families, imo, ie, movies or entertainment for kids after resort hrs.
don't mistake quantity for quality
little grooming done despite 21 cm snowfall on a friday
I spent six days in Apex in Mid February, and I totally loved the place. It is small, its is quaint, its a locals hill 100%, and that is great. The snow quality was super nice, the runs vary from easy cruisers to some of steepest stuff I have ever seen in the world. If you can ride this hill, you can ride anywhere in the world. The parks are great, they have both a beginners park and and advanced park, both with their fair share of rails, boxes and hits. The groomers are wide and smooth, and dont really get to chopped up as the day goes on. There are little to no lift lines, even on the weekends. The people there are amazing!!!! I'll be heading back for sure.

Nothing!
Great mountain! Apex has lots of steep and open terrian. Great for expert skiings and boarders. I have been skiing there my whole life and I really enjoy the mountain. With almost no line ups, Apex is a great escape. I have been to all of the resorts around the Okanagon and I have found Apex the most challanging. I recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a challange and would like to experiance tough terrain.
AWESOME TERRAIN! fairly cheap and extremely short line ups
Not to many cons. Not the best for beginners.
