Some of the best snow in the Rockies with the nicest glade runs you'll ever find.
We are from Spokane and have skied Kimberly twice now - and YES we will return! Friendly staff, reasonable prices, sweet little village, and skis MUCH bigger than it is on paper. There are some great, long runs with nice open blue trees, ungroomed runs, fine groomers, great snow when we were there. We even did some night skiing, that was a kick. The only drawback is the whole show is dependent upon the main high speed quad at the village. So, on a powder weekend or holiday, there can be some lines right there. And the other two lifts are slow... and can have lines when super busy. But every place has some lift issues on peak times, that's the way it goes. But even then, it clears out off and on, and no problems at all in the later afternoon. This is a smaller, very cool place!! The town of Kimberly is 4 minutes away! If you don't need a huge resort to be happy (like Big White, Sunshine, even Fernie is a lot bigger) than give it a try!! Oh, great bunny hill (didn't use but saw it).
Big enough and small enough!!
Only one main high speed quad

Incredible little hill! Its charm really comes from the fact that you can head out at noon on a powder day and despite the medium size of this hill you can still find freshies and often entire runs untouched. There is varying terrain to ride, and for boarders this hill doesn't have the big hits and steep tree lines of other larger mountains close by, by the groomers are by far the best I have ever ridden, and hammering 10 runs in top to bottom in under an hour and a half is entirely realistic. The snow is soft, and there is some pretty decent back country to explore, but the real joy is riding any one of the 3 chairs with scarcely a soul in sight! I hesitated writing this review because this hill is a coveted secret that I want to hide away as my very own. However, with Panorama and Fernie only 1.5 hours away in either direction, this is the absolute smartest pit stop on the powder highway-- if you're itching for steeps and chutes a beautiful valley drive is not so much hassle.

I have skied from whistler to banff and beyond. Kimberley has plenty of honest ungroomed black runs and glades in abundance At times you can get fresh tracks late in the day A powder skiers paradise Can you keep a secret ??

We just spent a fantastic family ski week at Kimberley Alpine Resort, located in southeastern corner of British Columbia. We escaped the hustle and bustle of the Olympics and found Kimberley Alpine Resort fit our family needs perfectly- ski in ski out lodging with pool, dining walk away, shopping in interesting village called the platzl, soft snow and lots of activities- like ice skating, cross country skiing, snowshoe and kids face painting. We had a great week of cruising the 1800 acres of fun! Even found some old mine shafts- the kids loved it!
ski in ski out, soft natural snow, great dining, kids activities
we had to leave,,,
wonderful, family centred resort. friendly staff. economical. they have re-introduced a loyalty card this year which makes for a great value (and was overdue). A simply fantastic jewel of the kootenay's.
great conditions, no lift lines
main run tapers at bottom and gets a bit busy
Have been coming to Kimberley from Ireland for the last 5yrs. Love the fact that unlike Europe theres never any lift queues. Very friendly lift staff and great pub at base for Apres ski -Stemwinder. Agree with some of the comments above-like the ski bridge...This is only a problem at peak times such as Alberta weekend and Spring Splash when theres a lot of skiers on the hill. RCR have been promising a second ski hill beside Northstar Village for years now but we're still waiting.....At the end of this ski season theyve just had 35cm dumped in 24hrs!!! Spring Splash is an awesome fun weekend not to miss!!! Totally safe hill for kids & lots for adults in the back.We cant wait to get back!!!
great family runs
bring back the rail park!

Kimberley is a great resort with cheap lift tickets and amazing runs. There are only two problems with Kimberley. 1. Everyone gets funneled down the bottom section and it makes it really icy. 2. The RCR terrain park is the pits. It has like 10 rails but there are usually 3 or 4 that are shut down for work to be done on them because they are broken. I'm ot saying that Kimberley is bad, but it would be great if they could develop a better terrain parks with some jumps and something they can;t control...They could totally use more snow.
Big hill. Lots of intermidiate terrain for riders.
Crazy Icy, Everyone has to funnel down the bridge to main lift

We come to Kimberly every year a few times from Calgary and absolutely love it! Kimberley (unlike other hills around) ALWAYS have snow for New Years and throughout the winter! We have yet to have a year with no Powder! Love the town, the locals, and the snowboarding! The hill is good for all, experienced on the back side and beginners on the front (Snowboarders get a good fast wax to get to the back side’s Blacks you need to traverse a bit.. but it’s not too bad). For the kids: Our friends put their 3 year old in the Morning ski lesson’s and then afternoon day care program.. which they loved so they could ski together and their daughter had a fantastic time. Then she joined us after in the pub for a snack while we enjoyed some brews, afterwards we all danced to the band! Hints for a great time to be had: For Apres: the Stemwinder is where the party is! We’ve stayed in Sullivan Stone which is Brand Spanking New(which was by far our favorite; high end, clean, ski-in/out, the units are spread across 3 floors so privacy with a group). Bit of a walk up after Apres Copper Springs is good as well.. if you don’t mind a bit older, the 2 bed with a loft unit’s were nice, and there’s a sledding hill right in front of the Units which was fun. Also Chicamon Springs is really nice (it’s got that NEW thing going for it as well)! All have private hot tubs.. which if you’re staying in the mountains and skiing is a MUST HAVE!
Fantastic all around

no line ups great conditions friendly people great on site accommodations, could have more on hill food/restuarant options, but given that this is the best kept secret in BC, that development can wait
easy access
