Windy up top, perfect in the mid-mountain and getting a bit soft low down given the warm temps. Some great moguls emerging given the recent snow dump and holiday crowds.

Great snow. Fresh powder everywhere. Overcast snowing on and off with medium visibility. Moderate lines. Very few lifts where running in the morning with more opening up into the afternoon

Some groomers have nice hard powder. Others you hit chunky hard bits with ice hiding underneath. Super variable. Be careful!

6-8 inches at base. Snow very wet at low elevation. Better at top of KT.

Granite Chief is unusually difficult and not fun unless you’re an expert+. Alpine Meadows has better coverage and is less icy, so go there. This weekend will be Snow, rain, snow as the groomers told me so keep up on the weather forecast day to day.

From a top Gold Coast. Awesome views a bit chilly and breezy. Everything is firm but skiable sharpen your edges and I’m heading up to granite chief now if there’s problems there, I’ll let you know. Come enjoy California and the next week’s gonna be epic because they’re gonna get great snow this week...

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend going right now it’s too icy especially the black diamond runs. If you stay on the groomed blues and greens it’s just ok but there’s still icy patches.

That’s Lake Tahoe in the background. 40° beautiful blue sunshine machine groomed pretty good coverage all throughout and will report from Alpine Meadows later.
