Snow Reporter Comments: 9:00am Update: The bell has rung to powder cheers and it's time to ride! It's so nice to see the mountain white again and make some soft turns.  See you out there. -TT   8:00am Update 02/14  : Love is in the air and so is snow! 5 1/2” overnight plus another 2" since 5am and we are still being showered with lovely fluffy flakes. Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day, but let’s celebrate our love of snow and call it a legit powder day. It’s all rosy cheeks and happy peeps up here today, so don’t miss out on all of the fluffy fun. The groomed slopes are in great shape and will be your best bet today with powder packed trails and soft, snow drift turns. The love will continue all day with 1 to 3 more inches spreading snowy kindness on the mountain.  Here’s to our Valentine’s Day with the sweetest treat of all – snow at Schweitzer.  Don't forget, the snow bar is open to celebrate Presidents Day Weekend! Beer will be flowing at the snow bar from 11:00am - 7:00pm, Twilight Skiing is until 7:00pm, and DJ No Ego Nights from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and Lady Oda in Taps from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  Also, do you have your prom date for tonight? Schweitzer Mountain is considered one of the best family-friendly ski resorts in the Pacific Northwest and offers amazing views of the surrounding town (Sandpoint) as well as of Canada and Lake Pend Oreille. Besides its many trails, it also offers 32 kilometers of Nordic trails, which can be used for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in the winter, or mountain biking in the summer. After you’re done playing on the mountain, take advantage of the shopping, dining and available spa experiences available to you. Where Is Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort Located?The nearest airport to the resort is Spokane International Airport, which is serviced by most major carriers, including United, Southwest, Alaska and American Airlines. From there, you can take a shuttle or drive yourself. Driving times from Spokane is 1.5 hours, Coeur d’Alene 45 minutes and Missoula and the Tri-Cities area 6 hours. Amtrak also offers services to Sandpoint from Seattle/Portland and Chicago/St. Paul/Minneapolis.
