Snow Reporter Comments: Another sunny and chilly day today! The sunshine has been welcome, but I think we’re all ready for a refresh, so let’s keep up with our snow dances! Maybe if we’re lucky, the snow showers projected for Thursday and Friday will turn into a dumping of some fresh pow. Don’t forget, Friday is Toyota Free Ski Friday! Bring your Toyota, Scion, or Lexus on January 24 and you get one free lift ticket for the day! Want to carpool or take the free shuttle? Bring your vehicle registration to the Village and you can get your free ticket that way too! We also have Winter Trails Day on Saturday, January 25 which means access to our cross country and snowshoe trails is free! Simply visit the Activity Center, Guest Services, or the Ski & Ride center for your free ticket. Rentals aren’t included, but they are available for purchase! Schweitzer Mountain is considered one of the best family-friendly ski resorts in the Pacific Northwest and offers amazing views of the surrounding town (Sandpoint) as well as of Canada and Lake Pend Oreille.
Besides its many trails, it also offers 32 kilometers of Nordic trails, which can be used for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in the winter, or mountain biking in the summer. Where Is Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort Located?
The nearest airport to the resort is Spokane International Airport, which is serviced by most major carriers, including United, Southwest, Alaska and American Airlines. From there, you can take a shuttle or drive yourself. Driving times from Spokane is 1.5 hours, Coeur d’Alene 45 minutes and Missoula and the Tri-Cities area 6 hours. Amtrak also offers services to Sandpoint from Seattle/Portland and Chicago/St. Paul/Minneapolis.
