Ski for yourself, you won’t regret your visit to Saddleback. This place is a special treasure that’s only beginning to be recognized by the masses.

Saddleback has quickly become my favorite mountain since reopening last year. It has some of the best steeps and Glades in the East, consistently high-quality snow, and a great small mountain vibe. The staff are truly enthusiastic and helpful. The new lift, snow making, and grooming infrastructure is readily apparent. The downside is the remote location limits accessibility, and the temperature in northern Maine is bitingly cold. The flipside is this weeds out the hordes of casual suburban skiers that descend on other New England ski hills.

Saddleback is back and a great addition to Maine and New England skiing. Saddleback has a great mix of bumps, glades and nice groomers.
Given its northern location, Saddleback maintains mid season snow conditions late into the season. We visited mid March and everything wa open with good snow on bumbs, glades, and groomers.
Saddleback only has a few lifts, but the new detactable guad gets lots of skiers up quickly limiting lines and given the modest number of skiers willing to travel to Saddleback, it doesn't get crowded.
And given all of this, the price can't be beat. Will definitely be going back.

I'm psyched Saddleback opened up. I told my kids about how great Rangeley is and then the mountain closed....I'm overjoyed now and skiing 4 days in a rented house at the end of the month...and the gotc14" of snow last night

Saddleback is an amazing resort. I've been a passholder there for the last six years. The snow is the best in Maine hands down and the staff are very friendly. Well worth the drive up.
