1/20/23. It was snowing all day and yet Wisp wasn’t blowing any additional snow to build up their base? Most everyone seemed baffled by that choice.
Saturday hit and the mountain got packed with people— that is when they started to blow? For the price, it was hard to justify coming back here again… whole place seems a little haggard— like they need a refresh on their equipment? Good mountain to start at, but with only a few blues and 1 black open, those of us in our party who wanted a bit more challenge. We’re left wanting more.
And the lodge food is pretty slow and abysmal. Yes, we ate there—- but really wishing they could revamp that as well.

I need to come back when it’s not -5 but overall I had a great trip and it was a great time to go the Friday before Christmas

Our adult family had a great time, Overall a great place for families that is evident by the number of kids, very much a green, some blue mountain. Very easy to get to since it's an easy 15 min drive off the interstate. Ski/boarding school was very crowded for mid week and didn't look great. I think Wisp is a great place for a beginner to work on becoming better. The lifts are very slow, two of them closed during the week. Even with lots of natural snow and a good base some of the trails were closed all three of the day we were there. I've never been to a ski resort that took so little pride in their trial grooming. There's no reason to have ice three days after a rain. They close the few top of the mountain lifts and hour before closing even though the longest a run could take is 10 min. Being a four seasons resort, winter seems to take the back seat. For me I would do Timberline, Cannan, and Snowshoe before I return to Wisp.

Very relaxed, family-friendly mountain. With only 700 ft of vertical, some of the easier trails were too flat and there weren't many expert trails. However, there were plenty of intermediate trails. Food was decent for the price. Although there were several inches of fresh powder on 2/29, underneath it was mostly ice.

Great place to go if stopping by for a couple days. Wouldn’t recommend for longer vacations. Lacks expert territory.

Was first time going and very disappointing. Paid for full package lesson and rental didn't get my money's worth. Staff were yelling at us during the lesson rudely too crowded and not pleasant experience. The mountain was way to crowded to learn or even enjoy. Staff not speaking English at the rental and didn't know what they were doing or the lift staff I asked the staff member at the kids a question couldn't speak English how is that safe. I would never go back.

The Wisp is a decent skiing area for all skill levels. I find the snow quality better than in New England on average and the terrain will keep you entertained for a day or so. Access is very easy. Just park your car and walk a few steps to the bottom of the trail from where the lift will take you up. Except on holidays there is usually not a long line at the lift.
The view of the lake from up top is a nice touch.
The area is small compared to what one would be used to from some of the areas in the west or in Europe and the lift tickets are not cheap. I still come often since I live close and I always have a good time.
In Summer there are various other activities in the area such as an artificial wild water course, mountain coaster (open in winter too), Mini Golf and of course boating on the lake!

Day trip to ski with the family. First time skiing for my 6 y/o son, so we put him in the kids all day ski program, which was awesome! They took care of everything from getting his equipment, feeding him lunch, and several hours of ski lessons and activities (~$120 for everything). We got to spy on him throughout the day, and it looked like they were all having a blast. My wife had never been skiing before either. Fortunately Monday's are learn to ski days, so included with the $49 all day lift ticket and rental was a 1hr group lesson. I saw lots of ski instructors teaching groups, and they all seemed to be great with kids and adults alike. As for the mountain, pretty much everything was open with the exception of a few short glade runs. We got a little bit of rain the day before we came, so the snow was a little hard and icy early, but otherwise the place was in really decent shape. Even with the special lift ticket prices, it wasn't terribly crowded and lines at the lift were short all day.
