Overall a great resort serving southern New England. The lift lines fill up on weekends. Get there early for best parking.

Trails were fun and cruz-y; trail grooming was great all day; lift line management was great as they kept things moving along smoothly. The whole thing was an easy, happy experience. Took the train / shuttle from Boston which was super easy. Love all the ticket options this mountain offers too.

Wachusett is a great beginner mountain with lots of easy terrain. I don't think I've been to another place where a relative beginner can go ski the blacks comfortably using only snowplowing. They have the largest bunny hill I've ever seen (which they call their green runs), combined with a high-speed lift. The runs are really limited and simple compared with other places in Massachusetts. The best this about the mountain is the high speed lifts which are great. Wachusett can get really crowded on weekends and even weeknights, and parking can be a nightmare - leading to long lines - and they often have you park a mile away from the resort because the main parking fills up quick. Their snow making and grooming are good, but Wachusetts isn't even the third best ski area in Massachusetts, it just happens to be close to Boston.

Great place to learn to ski. Had a really good deal package for newbies with no equipment and experience. Would recommend to family and friends. Location and mountain are reasonable for the price.

Wachusett is overall a good learning and family mountain. Smith Walton and 10th offer a decent challenge but by and large the strength of this mountain is in it's green and blue trails.
The downside is the crowds. Ski midweek or do a half day mornings because many trails become icy, including the blue trails by early afternoon.
I took my kids to lessons there and wasn't impressed. One of the instructors was good but the kids weren't assessed correctly and hence it wasn't worth it.

The lesson I paid for was abusive. None of instructors were excited to go out with me. They “hot potatoed” me to the Asian instructor, who despite everything I tried was difficult to understand. I was nice at first but then realized that the smiling was mistaken for agreement and the man wasn’t listening to me AT ALL. They wouldn’t listen to me to assess my skill level. Spent 25 minutes on the bunny slope proving to them I had had a few lessons previously. Just a waste. The lessons are for babysitting children. Send your kids if you want to hit the slopes solo. Not for adults seriously trying to improve. Avoid if you can. Big regret wasting the couple days I had in the area at this place.

A great place to spend the winter season

Good skiing. Lodge empties out between 2-4.

Easy to access all facilities especially from one lift to another. Sometimes crowded but trails connect well so one can find less crowded area. Go outside when lodge is full & vice versa.
