Hyland hills is a great place for skiers/snowboarders who love the park. With the rope tow you can get at lest 35 laps an hour so you get losts of reps. Also the food in the chalet is very good (especially the chicken tenders).

This is coming from a skier that skis at Hyland all day every day- Hyland hills Is a great skiing resort to go to if your in the area and looking for the best terrain park in the Midwest. The customer service isn’t gonna be the best since it just a bunch of teens trying to get a free season pass but they are super friendly, the runs are short but you can get a lot of runs in if your going later at night or early in the day. Overall it’s a great ski/snowboarding spot to go to.

I've skied this place for a few years up until 2017. I feel this place has a bit of a bad rap. The criticisms are not entirely invalid, but a bit blown out of proportion. Facilities are very up to date and decent compared to other nearby ski areas (though not completely) And the terrain parks provide decent features, progression, and layouts for their size. Though you can probably cover the whole mountain in one visit, but i still had fun throughout my visits each season. The new chalet is very nice and well maintained, especially compared to the old one, with decent food and stuff. Again, It's probably more of a day mountain to go to when you want to get out of the house during the winter. And i don't think this is everyone's kind of mountain, as the only notable terrain here are the parks. So take from that what you will.

This ski resort is an absolute joke. The prices here are very similar to the prices at Wild Mountain, Trollhaugen and Welch Village, but this resort is only 1/4 the size of those other resorts.
The only real benefit this place has is that they're close to the metro, but if that's your main concern, you should go to Buck Hill instead. Although Buck Hill is also a tiny resort, they're larger than this place and there's a nice view from the top of that hill.

One star may be too high. Absurdly priced for short runs that are in mediocre condition. The lines are awful, and it feels like a fight to keep your place in line. I absolutely wasted an afternoon coming here- save your money and time and visit Welch or Afton, or just build a 10 foot hill in your backyard and ski down that.

I was looking forward to teaching my daughter to snowboard. But once I was on the bunny slop I was told that I could not take my board off and walk holding her hands while I instructed her. I pointed out that there were 3 employee instructors doing the same thing. I also mentioned that I am AASI certified. I was told that they were employees and that was different. Management is setting a double standard not allowing families to to help each other learn the sport. or are they attempting to force us to pay for the snow sports school. I am extremely disappointed in this little hill.

The lines are very long with very short runs.

The workers are all very young and very crabby.
