A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
This mountain is not the biggest but has a lot of advanced trails. From the top there is a good variety of single and double black with some blues. There is a really small terrain park that is not the best. Not the best for beginners but really good for intermediates. The view of the lake is also beautiful, definitely worth seeing.

My grandson was in ski school for the day. He lived. By the end, he had learned everything needed to ski by himself. I will definitely bring him back. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Thank you all so much.

Sunapee is a great mountain for all levels

I skied there on February 15, 2024. The conditions were packed powder all over the mountain, which was extraordinary, considering the very challenging weather lately, and with the much worse conditions elsewhere. It was a blue sky day, and a wonderful experience.

I felt compelled to write a review because I see so many one and two star reviews I really feel they are not warranted. First off, someone commented on muddy parking lots. I was actually very impressed that the main parking lot is fully paved which is something I have really never seen here in New England. If you have to use the satellite parking lots I guess those are not paved.
Also, the staff at Sunapee is the best that I have ever seen. Everyone is so helpful and willing to go over and beyond. The skiing this year for 2024 has not been great but it is not the fault of the mountain. We have had periods of freezing weather followed by periods of rain and extreme thawing. Thus the icing. Someone also commented that there is no snow making here and that's simply isn't the truth. If it's above 30° you can't make snow but I have witnessed snow making on every single day where the temperatures warrant it.
As far as long lift lines goes, I ski midweek and I've skied a couple of dozen days this year and I have never had to wait even a minute to get on the lift. I guess just don't go on the weekends. If that's even the case. I cannot attest to the weekends as I have not been there on the weekends.
Overall, I would have to say that Sunapee is one of the better resorts that I have skied at and they do go above and beyond. Give it a try.

I have put kids, nieces/nephews, friends kids, grandkids in ski lessons all over the US, France and Switzerland. Sunapee is right up there. The organization, communication and wonderful instructors are great. Th kids ae happy o go - the real test!

Fun mountain, I just wish there was more black terrain, especially steep terrain, as goosebumps is your only option for expert terrain that isn’t a glade.

Both my husband and my 6 year old children were hit from the back skiing down the mountain. The lines were very long. The conditions were great. They make a lot of snow and they were groomed nicely, but why aren't all the trails open? It is very crowded at the lifts and on the trails.
