A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Went Feb 19th, 2023 being beginner and closest to me with only an hour drive. Magic Carpet was running but plenty of space open, two lifts (1 going straight to top for "expert level" skiing, the other drops off at beginner part of mountain and proceeds to "expert" level). Perfect for my level of skiing however the lift line management could be better, but was tolerable and not long.
Staff was friendly and was somewhat quick to register and get my skis. Cost ~100-120 for full day pass and rentals, which if I drive another 40 minutes I could have gone to mountain creek for the same price. Will definitely come back due to the closeness in getting skiing versus going to indoor options Big Snow.

We have been coming to Campgaw for the past 4 years and this will be our last. The staff they have working were absolutely rude! Called my son an idiot. Hey idiot are you going to put the tube back! Threatened,... don’t even try and walk towards me, you’ll see what happens. Yelling like Sargents... move, move, move like if they were moving cattle. We took 5 kids and all came off saying how rude and mean they were! They all said they don’t ever want to go back there. When I told the man in charge, not sure if was an owner, he was almost laughing, didn’t really give the impression that it was concerning to him.

Two stars because they do have a slope and some staff members are nice. The place is geared towards getting as much money as possible out of you. Outdated equipment, lifts that take forever, ridiculous policies like you can be on a slope only in ski boots even if you're accompanying a little child, talking with staff is like talking to an automated bank teller. If you are able to ignore all that and have deep pockets then you will have fun.

This mountain is absolutely perfect for beginners. It’s also great to get a few runs in after school. We purchased a pack of lessons for our son. His instructor Andrew has taught him so much in just 3 lessons. We will be back every week & for years to come. Anyone who wrote a negative review probably didn’t purchase lessons. I highly recommend renting your equipment else where for the season.

This is the perfect spot to teach young kids to ski, provided you follow one fairly simple rule: Make sure you are skiing with them. We have had a terrific time her with my 3 and 5 year old riding the magic carpet and then graduating up to the chair lift.
I was apprehensive about going here after seeing all of the negative reviews, but it was just too nearby to resist trying. Virtually all of the negative comments have to do with people who didn't bring their ski stuff or pay for a lift ticket expecting to be on the slopes with their kid teaching them to ski. That strategy will fail miserably, as they keep the people without equipment who walk up behind a fence.

If you are looking to teach your kids how to ski, you should avoid this place. I bought a lift ticket and rentals for my daughter who was learning to ski. I was not riding myself because I needed to be able to catch my kid and help her try to learn. we did not even go up on any lift, just stayed at the base of the mountain, when I was approached by multiple staff and management telling me I need to have a lift ticket and ski equipment to be on the premises. I tried to explain that I wasn't riding, nor would I be able to catch my daughter with my skis on. They didn't budge and continued to nag me with their idiotic policies. We ended up getting a refund and going to Mountain Creek, which was much more family friendly and accommodating.
Don't waste your time with this place and just goto Mountain Creek.

This is pretty much the worst mountain i have been to . i wrote this complaint and never heard from them.
I have purchased the below ski package for my son at 2:15 today.
my son wanted to leave class after 30 mins since he had a hard fall due to lack of of surveillance. he was pretty much left alone and crashed into the the side nets.
The program looks very unprofessional compared to similar classes in the region. the staff seems very young and inexperienced.
i totally find $109 is inappropriate you have provided today. I am hoping you would take an action about it.
