This is a great little ski area and where I learned how to ski. It's hard to describe but when you are here there are definitely more community than business vibes which is getting harder to find these days. This is a great place to go to warm up for the season before heading off to the larger resorts throughout the country. You can learn how to ski on the new magic carpet they are putting in, work on your carves on the general terrain, and learn how to pick the best line on the advanced terrain. I have been skiing for 17 years and this little area is still keeping me entertained, highly recommend!
You can learn pretty much anything here.
Needs more funding.

Dry Hill is a great place to take the family for a day of skiing, snow boarding or tubing. The instructors are wonderful!!! They can make skiers out of almost everyone. Lessons and rentals are affordable. They are military friendly, offering a free appreciation day and discounts on everyday tickets for military and family members. The Fireside Lounge is a great après ski place to hang out, get warm and have a drink with friends. The bartenders are really friendly. Chairlift line can be long, especially after 1:00 pm on Saturdays. If you know how to ride a T-bar, you'll have less lift lines. Dry Hill is conveniently located and overall has a great atmosphere. I highly recommend it!
Very conveniently located in Watertown, NY.
sometimes has long lift lines
I learned to ski here. This is a small family friendly little ski mountain! pillar of the community and kept kids out of trouble!

This was where my passion for skiing began. This is a perfect ski area for anyone learning the sport.

This small ski resort is perfect for families, beginners and Intermediates. If you are an expert, the trails are fun but might not be as long as you might like. The ski/snowboard instructors are incredible and have taught both of my children and my husband. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Great place
Limited size
If you are learning to snowboard or ski for the first time and Dry Hill is the nearest local hill then its fine for just that or if you have children and you want a place to take them then Dry Hill is the place. There really are only three runs on Dry Hill and for such a small hill that offers so little you have to wonder why it is similarly as much as Gore Mountain, Snow Ridge and Titus Mountain (of course location). The only benefit to this place is you get up almost as fast as it takes to get down. Though, if you run it straight down you can do it in 30 seconds. They do have a terrain park here but a 1ft jump isn’t going to get anyones blood pumping. The trail map shows more runs to the far left and right but even at the best of the season I’ve scrapped ground (they don’t blow snow there). I wouldn’t rate any trail over a blue. I would however recommend driving over to Snow Ridge or Titus Mountain for a better experience.

the hill is good for all people new to sking-snowboarding. as a review said before the hill is straight down it is not he needs to go to a mountain. it isa great hill though for the size. they do what they can with what they are givin. the staff is nice and insrtucters are very helpfull. it is a little over priced for the size though...
good evirement
crowded
Okay, this is going to sound like I hate Dry Hill - I don't. So many things could be improved though: 1) Bathrooms are terrible and very small - forget about changing in them. 2)Lodge is too small - you can't find a seat if you get there 15 minutes after opening. 3) Punks!!! Parents drop their kids off and don't come back for hours. I've seen these kids wreck the seats on the chairlift. 4) The T-bar. It always breaks down and is antiquated. Replace it with a Chairlift! That said; I will say that all my kids have learned to ski at Dry Hill - instruction is very good and if they can ski Dry Hill they can ski anywhere.
Very good learn to ski programs
small lodge, not enough beginner terrain, too many teenagers
I have been skiing at Dry Hill since I was a child and I started my child at 2 1/2 years old. He is now working at Dry Hill. Many people that were dedicated workers 30 years ago are still working hard at making the hill its best. This hill is a great place to learn to ski or snowboard, but is also close by and convenient for a fun weekend without traveling too far. It has always been a family friendly atmosphere and I would recommend it to every family. The addition of the Tubbing has really been popular. Great Birthday Party Location. The staff is great and Lessons are always available. If you don't like winter, this is a wonderful way to make the best of it with your family and/or friends.
Beginners BEWARE! Dry Hill was not a place for me as an adult beginner. The rental equiptment was very outdated and therefore not useful for skiing at all. The hill is very small and straight down. T-pole would have been helpful if there was enough staff to instruct you how to use it for the first time. Good food and mostly teenage kid hangout if you ask me.
