My family loves this place. We have made a new set of best friends and kids are having a blast. Value is exceptional for a family with the seasons pass.

I've been to a lot bigger mountains than this one but this to the closest mountain to me so I find myself going there the majority of the time and it's always a great time. Even though it is a smaller mountain I never find myself getting bored with the trails and they have a pretty nice terrain park as well. This is a great mountain if you're just starting skiing/snowboarding to learn on or even more advanced skiiers if they're just looking for a laided back fun time.

A hidden gem 45 minutes from the Capitol District. A wonderful family area. All the skiing and challenges you need to enjoy a great skiing experience. The staff is helpful, courteous and very knowledgeable. Ski school for everyone. Excellent grooming and overall a well maintained facility. Pricing is reasonable and the staff is pleasant, courteous and helpful. Recommend the Royal experience very highly.

My family has been skiing at royal mountain for many years. Its a great place for kids. The staff is great the mountain is just the right size. Jim does a great job taking over for mother nature when she is not cooperating with the snow. Generations have learned to ski and snowboard on Jim's mountain. The food is good and hot. The place is affordable.
Its anice family place to ski. No pretension. Just skiing. Basic lodge with basic food, Not crowded, good snow, good grooming, newer fixed grip chairs. I like it as a change of pace. Price is right too.
Royal is a great place if you are getting your kids into skiing. The ski school is fantastic on the begginer slope.
On the main mountain there is a gradual ramp up from a couple easier trails to the steeper Royal and Challenge.
Tough terrain in a small package on the main part of the mountain.
Skiing on 1/20/08 was fantastic - Couple inches of new lake effect snow and plenty of base. Much more than Gore.
