This could almost be best defined as a big hill you would sled ride down as a kid. Not a bad place to go for a couple hours on a week day If you live close by. I have heard people mention five dollar fridays but I have never been to one. I have gone on the weekend and the price was $65 for a lift ticket which is absurd given terrain. The runs take all of about 45 seconds. Nice enough facilities, good for something to do in the afternoon if you live close.
Good to take the kids to learn to ski for a couple of hours
Small, runs are short, icy, expensive for what it is.

The best part of this place is the Terrain Park. Me and my friends always spend our whole day at the park. Great for both skiers and snowboarders. The workers are usually friendly. Unfortunately they usually close the Terrain Park about 15-20 minutes before the mountain closes, which always gets on my nerves. The food is good albeit a bit overpriced. Utah and Upper Tuscarora are great runs for intermediate skiers/snowboarders. Overall, Tussey Mountain is a great hill for nearby residence, and I highly recommend a visit when you're nearby.
Good conditions most of the time, good terrain park.
Overpriced food, big lift is VERY slow

Tussey is a decent place to learn to ski and improve your skills. It won't challenge the advanced skier. The snow conditions are hit and miss and the grooming could be better. If you go on weekdays before 4 pm, you'll practically have the place to yourself. The lift is old and slow, but the convenience from the State College area still makes it worth it for a few hours of skiing.
Decent for beginners
Limited terrain

Nice local mountain close to State College and Penn State. No crowds and you can really lap the mountain, but no challenge for advanced skiers, but still fun. We ski here sometimes during the week and really enjoy the 2 hour pass. The pass is reasonably priced and you can get 20 runs in two hours.
Low crowds and usually fairly good snow conditions
Small size and takes a while to get entire mountain open.

Brought my two sons for a day trip to learn to ski. Resort was not crowded. Staff was friendly and helpful, resort implemented solid covid protocols. We had a great time and will be coming back with mom and the third son to learn and Dad and other two to make track on the big slopes!
Solid covid protection, great staff, not crowded
Was probably the last week of the season

Given its Central Pennsylvania location, the snow conditions are superb! Tussey Mountain is home to the best lift in the world, the iconic T-bar! Also, they offer awesome go carting and mini golf in the off season! All in all, Tussey Mountain is the best ski resort ever and everyone should experience its epicness!!!
Everything is awesome, the mountain management rocks, and the race team is the best!

Tussey is a small mountain offering great learn to ski programs in a safe and secure environment. It fulfills this mission well in a family friendly way. You can enjoy the slopes for a while if you are a better skier, but this is not an expert's destination resort and it is not fair to compare Tussey to larger resorts in the northeast or the west. The cost is also much more reasonable than resorts like Vail (a great place to learn before you go).
small size and personalized attention
not the variety of trails to explore as larger resorts

To me Tussey represents what skiing is all about. This small quirky "mountain" located a stones throw from the great college town of State College, PA makes you appreciate the little things that make skiing great. I can honestly say I have never had a bad time here. Sure its small, icy, and only has one legitimate lift, but it is a great value! I mean $5 Fridays?? Come on! That's pretty awesome. It has a gnarly atmosphere too! The super friendly staff are always playing rad music every night of the week and if the screams of drunk college kids barreling down the snowtube park aren't enough to make you laugh, the constant crashes from the massive amount of people learning to ski for the first time sure will. Tussey is not the kind of place you spend a weekend at, it is a place you go for a few hours at night for next to no money to get a few turns in, knock back a few beers share many many laughs and make fond memories. Truly Pennsylvania skiing at its finest!
