As someone that has spent at least 10 grand at this resort over the years, between 20 years worth of season passes, and food and drinks, its just not worth it anymore. the only thing the mountain could have to make them stand out regionally has been the most neglected part of the mountain for the past decade now. in comparison to nearby rocky mountain states you dont have the terrain to compete. but that would be alright because in the modern day ski industry (i know you guys are like the rest of south dakota and still live in the 1980s) terrain parks have been the most popular part of our sport. kids see it in the x games and olympics and that is what drives them to get in the sport. you guys have cut the size of the park in half, features have got much worse. youre jumps are dangerous because you guys have no idea what youre doing. you no longer hold any park events or competitions, yet put money into a ski team that doesnt stand a chance in regional competition. terry peak will never produce a pro skiier of that type. yet look at the number of pros that came from small mountains in places like North Carolina, Minnesota and other small mountains that actually know the industry and see the value of building a good terrain park. even great bear in sioux falls is more in touch with the industry and has a far better terrain park than terry peak. they've had a rope tow in their park for 2 decades. cutting the park in half doesnt eliminate us park riders it just means we have to make full use of the mountain and scare beginners riding by at high speeds jumping around them. couldve simply just given us our own space. i truly despise this clueless out of touch resort. ill travel to montana next year instead.
Not much of anything. i guess its the only place for locals to ski
Poor, lazy, clueless out of touch management that knows absolutely nothing about the ski industry.

The terrain park was so sketchy last year jumps were poorly built and it took a super long time to open also with how small the park is it would be nice to have a rope tow I also think kussy should open sooner But overall it’s a good enough mountain glad to have it around
Good for beginners learning to ski bad for anyone else
Make the terrain park a full run again open the park sooner

Re open a full run for only terrain park and stop cutting it short keep the beginners and carved out of park make it harder to enter park cause it was reckless last year
Place is home and got great people around this mountain
Too much focus on the little things not focused on the over all riding for everyone really lacking in the terrain park side of the mt

Modern European ski lifts, 1100 hundred feet of vertical, affordable lift tickets and nearby lodging, make this area on of the best in the central USA. This area has become my first day ski destination on my road trips out west. Try it you'll like it!
Skiing doesn't get any better than this in the middle of the USA
Does not get an excess of natural snow cover, but it's adequate with snowmaking.

We really enjoyed our time skiing here!
Great for us older(65+) folks to feel safely challenged. The works are friendly and helpful. Great snow today!
Lots of people on weekends!

We drive from the midwest, with a stops in Sioux falls coming and going. We stay at the Tin Lizzy/Hampton in Deadwood, free parking, free breakfast, this room goes for 350 a night during bike week, but i paid 50 bucks a night, with 5th night free, under 300 total with tax. We are advanced skiers, that is over 70. 70 and over ski for 10 bucks. you pull your truck right to the lodge , drop off the wife, go park usually 3 rows back on level parking lot. We lockup the skis, go to the window , spend 80 bucks for 8 lift tickets. go inside and get a locker, put on boots and stuff. take a potty break, walk on level ground out our skis, and ski down a long green/ blue trail to the lift. several lifts take you up top to ski all day, then from the top take a run back to parking lot . did you notice ,no up hill walking all day, no polling all day, grooming was good, they are safety minded and will close a run or a lift if not safe. the two food and drink places are real good . the main lodge handy to beginners and the other more for black and blue skier. Deadwood and lead have several great bars and restaurants. So ,add up our trip , 250 Hampton sioux city, 300 hampton deadwood, 80 senior 8 tickets 400 gas , Total 1030 You can eat , drink, gamble all you want, but if your on a budget , try the 6 dollar salad bar or 6 dollar all you can eat soup bar right in your hotel, we watched the Super Bowl at tin lizzy sports bar and betting parlor. We wine tasted, and also beer tasted in Lead, Had pot roast at big AL`S . Great steaks and salmon in Deadwood. Live music sometimes. we have done the trip for several years. We spent less than 1500 on everything, HOW MUCH FUN CAN YOU HAVE FOR 750 BUCKS A PERSON.
good blue and black runs
the drive from Illinois a little boring

Went with my teenage son for a day. The weather was great which meant it was super busy. The lift lines were a free for all and total chaos. My board took a huge beating here between the lift lines and unmarked rocks on the runs. The runs all felt very much the same as well. Some were more steep, some less steep, but all were more or less straight and open. We ended up cutting the day very short and won't bother making the drive again.
Not Sure
Lots of rocks, staff not very friendly, lack of variety

No it’s not like skiing the big resorts but who really wants to ski 3,500ft elevation in one run? I had a blast ripping turns on all of the blue and black runs at Terry Peak. Lines were short and the lifts are modern and fast. Ticket prices are cheaper than my Minnesota hills and the skiing is way better.
High speed chairs, 1,100 ft elevation, good pitch top to bottom, good grooming
1,100 ft elevation and no double black terrain.

Learn to ski here. Good vibe can be crowded when terrain isn't open. Can be expensive if only 5 runs are open even with discount. But they are the only game around. If you find yourself near its automatic. If you find yourself in a car and five or more hours longer ride to a destination. You have a decision to make. Pick well.
