Reviews for Jay Peak
Total (3.6)
A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Glades, steeps, cliffs, etc. can find it all at the resort with the best snow on the east coast. Even gets more natural snow then many west resorts but the low elevation leads to lots of freeze thaw cycles so less of the natural snow fall builds up. Mountain is often foggy up top and icy on the groomers. Don’t expect many blue bird days at Jay.
Great place to ski

Jay Peak is my favorite mountain to go to. Great snow, usually in march. Best Mountain On The East Coast.

If you’re a good skier and like off-piste stuff, Jay Peak is absolutely a destination! They frequently get knee deep powder and the wood trails are some of the best in the country!

This is great for family and great for expert skiers ( mostly children ) because they have lots of woods and as an expert skier this is great for experts and intermediates. The only reason this isn’t the best for beginners is because there will be racers and intermediate/expert skiers speeding down the green and blue trails.

I think is fine for a family and pro skiing the prices are too high and service is not good. The food is
Awful, no espresso, no gym in the hotel, no hot tub in the hotel no Stem room in the hotel? Stowe and white face have this. If your European don’t go.

We were there for what has to be the coldest I've ever been - windchill at negative 17 (and that's being generous). But I still manages to have an amazing lesson with Clare who was just the kindest and most encouraging person, despite the conditions. Serious snowfall made for fun in the powder.

Overall I loved the experience, there is so much pow!!! The descent is really fun. The scenery is sooo beautiful, but unfortunately I don't think this resort is best for snowboarding. Due to the terrain and lack of incline, multiple times I (and other riders) had to undo our bindings in order to move.

amazing terrain all day with tons to do after, including a massive indoor water park!

Any review that doesn't contain the words "trees" and "snow" isn't worth reading. This place has the best snow on the east coast bar none and among the best terrain (Mad River Glen and Stowe are also both awesome in this regard). The tree skiing there is unrivaled. This isn't the place to go if you're looking for groomers, but if off-piste is your jam, Jay simply can't be beat.
