We have been going as a family to Okemo for the last 5 years. My wife, our two daughters, their two husbands and our three grandkids. We stay at Jackson Gore in a 3 bedroom slope side condo. Okemo works hard on their grooming and maintaining great conditions on all their runs. Their snow making ability is excellent. They have a wide array of beginner though intermediate skiing. Their expert runs are OK for the northeast, but not outstanding. They really suffer from their lack of Apres Ski. It's virtually nonexistent at both Jackson Gore and the main lodge.
Outstanding effort put towards family friendly
Virtually no Apres Ski

Since taken over by Vail resorts everything is based on profits Okemo was known for its snow making and grooming. Those days are gone as well as utilizing all the lifts. Other than taking my grandkids to introduce them to skiig after 30 plus years will not be coming back !!
to introduce beginners
minimal snowmaking lifts and groomong

Vail took the family fun atmosphere away.. I've been taking my kids here for 15years.. the stopped letting our local school ski there for free..

On February 20 a 17 year old boy lost his wallet and did not know where. February 21st he was back on the mountain to snowboard again. I called the Lost and found and spoke to Coleen Dooley, she told me she would look for it and call me back either way. Hours later she called me to tell me another staff personel found it in the snow! She brought it to lost and found. l got a call back telling me the wallet was found!! Wow!! Thank you so much Colleen Dooley you were absolutely amazing!! GREAT staff!! Thank you Okemo for your GREAT SERVICE!!
Great staff at Lost & Found

I have been coming to okemo since I was just able to walk and I love my memories of this place. Now I have brought my son here and all I can say is that I am extremely disappointed. Vail resorts has turned a fun family experience into a soulless corporate slog. Completely disregarding ticket prices (not that it should be disregarded) the experience as a whole has ruined what was my favorite mountain. During the week half of the lifts are closed because they don't want to spend the resources to run them for the reduced volume of skiers. This limits the terrain available to beginner skiers to mountain Rd and various minor tributaries. They steal your bags if you leave them in the lodge, something everyone has always done in the history of skiing, across the world. They scanned my pass while I was standing at the bottom of the magic carpet in SHOES waiting for my son to come down from his practice runs, charging me a full day's worth of my 4 day pass. That was eventually resolved after an hour's hassle and involving the resort manager when they "magnanimously" offered me a "free pass", although it was simply returning the day they had stolen from me without cause. The staff is unfriendly (with a few exceptions of course), the atmosphere is gone, and I won't be coming back. I will avoid all Vail resorts in the future. I will try to do my little part to keep the soul of my passion alive, to keep skiing fun and family friendly, to halt the corporate takeover that has made skiing in the USA so expensive that I can fly to Europe, pay for lodging and life tickets and food, and still spend less than a week on an epic pass at Vail resorts where I have free lodging and cook my own food.
The terrain is good for families WHEN they open all the lifts.
Everything else, Vail resorts is ruining skiing.

We have skied Okemo for the last 5 years with our family including grandkids. We have stayed at the condominiums on the Jackson Gore side. They are very nice. Very good. Extras. Nice swimming pools, Jacuzzis, and a decent restaurant at Jackson Gore. The downside of Okemo overall is their lack of opera ski activities.
Excellent family ski area and fantastic staff
Apres ski is almost non existent

I stayed with another family as a guest, and while my overall ski experience was wonderful, it was very hard to get a good night sleep in the condo we stayed at affiliated with the hotel. The beds were the hardest beds i have ever slept on, the kitchen essentials were terrible (breakfast out of a DOG BOWL) and the house was extremely outdated, like from the 90’s. In regards to my rentals: my experience was amazing. A few weeks prior, i went to Hunter mountain where i had fun, but i was in TREMENDOUS pain from my ski boots. A lovely man named Ray at Okemo measured my feet and informed me that my boots at Hunter were an entire size too big which really messed up my feet/knees. He showed me how to correctly put them on, take them off and essentially made my entire ski experience PHENOMENAL. I was in 0 pain this time and had nothing but fun and it is entirely thanks to Ray! I cannot wait to be back next season!
Very helpful staff
Outdated condo/uncomfortable beds.

It was my first time snowboarding Okemo. I was there 27-29th. Overall good mountain with nice groomed trails. It did have a bit of ice patches and made it a bit challenging. Lifts were around 20-30 min to get to the top. Crowded on the way down. people just standing around in the middle. Overall , good times and I will definitely come back
Mountain was in good condition. Lots of trails open with good snow.
Lifts were slow and very crowded at times. A lot of people parked on the way down.

Great experience, will be back.
Plenty of lifts, good mix of terrain. Great Lodge feel.
Connection between Main Base and Jackson Gore seems to be cumbersome.
