A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
We just spent the day here. Fun place with a great staff. The chalet was very nice with a standing fire and excellent, affordable cafe food. The hill is small and the runs pretty short - even by Midwest standards but quite a few developed acres. The ticket prices are really steep. Understandable what with the kids being some damned dormant today. Sad we've raised such a lackadaisical crop of kids. 30 years ago this place probably rocked on the weekends - today about 50-75 people. No lift lines - so I guess there's a good point.

Cliff jumps. Two tree skiing areas. Telemark, ski blade, and twin tip ski rentals in addition to skis and snowboards*. Some portions of runs are left ungroomed for powder and man-made mogul skiing. Snow tubing. High speed rope access to terrain parks. A newly expanded expert area next to the T-bar means you can ski hard in a less traveled corner of the hill. Cabin rental. Summer rock climbing. This area has a ton of variety in a small package.$2 beginner lessons. The staff is really great, you can request the chair be slowed down if you've never ridden a lift before. It's got real small town charm*Thursday and saturday nights have $10 rentals at the time I'm writing this
It is the best ranked ski area in the state for a reason. Christie Mountain isn't huge so there arent big lines. The terrain parks are great for those learning to experts. The range of diffiulty in the slopes is great. The employees are dedicated and freindly, as are the owners.
Can't say enough good things about this place. Try it and you will not be disappointed.
Saw this site and had to respond! This place is awesome and the snow conditions are unbelievable. We live 2 hrs. away but will see that we go back there at least a couple of times next season. The kids are 10, 16 and 18yrs old. All of them loved it! Fun for my wife and I also. After we were on the slopes all afternoon we all went snow tubing. It was the best time we have ever had as a family ski trip, in the midwest. The older boys plan on taking their friends over next season. Very affordable and not much for lift lines. Great place to go for everyone!

I really like working there and having the best conditions in the Mid-west :) . I love how all of us work together and have a great time even though the weather sometimes doesn't work to our advantage. I LOVE IT !!! :)
I love going to Christie Mt.! They have a great variety of runs and terrain parks. Even a beginners terrain park! So if I wanted to try the jumps and that again (got hurt a while back) I have a place that I can practice without feeling pressured or like I have to hurry or am not good enough! There are a few other terrain areas that look really well developed and maintained. The rest of the hill is very well groomed and maintained also. They even have a couple glade traisl available if wether conditions allow. As an added bonus when I get sick of boarding I can always hit the snow tubing hill or rent a pair of snowshoes and still have a blast! I reccomend Christie Mountain to anyone interested in a casual, fun ski/board trip.

This is a great hill for family entertainment. Very low fees for ski lessons, good rental equipment, excellent food and well maintained.
Great beginning runs to intense black runs make for a challenging day all over the hill. The terrain park is carefully done with a separate high speed tow rope. Main run to the chair runs right by the chalet's big windows making it perfect for keeping an eye on my younger children coming down for their next run. The staff were very friendly and lift operators are very helpful to younger children just starting out. Christie Mt. is also very affordable. Highly recommend!!
We saw this place online and had to give it a try. Went as a family, My son and daughter needed to learn to ski. What great instructors. they spent over an hour with our kids for $4.00. By the time they were done they were skiing down the big hill.
The mountain lacked a little vertical, but many of the runs you got all of it at the top, this made the runs fast and relativly steep. We were so impressed with the staff and the lack of long lift lines.
The conditions on the mountain were awsome and stayed that way all day.
The terrain parks were great, well laid out and challenging.
This place has something for everyone, from begginer to experienced.
I have skied all over the midwest and i can't remember going to a ski resort and having this much fun.
Way to go christie mountain, keep up the good work.

2nd Stop in our weekday trip over winter break. Unfortunately no one else wanted to stay the whole day on the mountain since it wasn't big enough, so we went tubing for most of the day.
Great staff though, great prices, and great atmosphere!
Can't wait to make the trip again next year!!
