August Magic!
It looks like a cracker of a day to kick off August! The forecast is calling for cloudy skies but there is nothing but stars above at the moment. The current temp is -5, heading for a pleasant top of 2 degrees and the wind has backed right off to a light easterly.
We've had another 2 cm dusting in the last 24 hours and the snowguns have had a good solid run overnight and are still in full swing this morning. The snow conditions will be very similar to the last few days, with firm but good carving conditions on the groomers first up. Off piste will be a little more challenging, with a skiff of fresh sitting on top of a pretty hard base but there will be some smooth pockets to be found, and the sunny aspects should soften for fun spring-like turns as the day warms.
The Victorian School Champs and The Masters will be racing on Snake Gully until about midday today, so take the opportunity to check out the young and the older putting them on edge in the sun for a while.
Slap on the screen and have a ripper day.
