A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Great overall experience with lots of on hill accommodation.

Overall amenities are fantastic. As afar as skiing, this is the best value for a variety of carpets, poma lift and chairs to get kids and adults learning - much more attractive, economical (superb Discovery Zone value), and friendly than Norquay, Sunshine, and Winsport. There are also a ton of options for lessons and being able to go to your room and take a break between runs is great for when kids are learning. All the staff are super friendly.

It looks like Whistler BC up here. Everyone is super friendly in Panorama and Invermere BC. Food prices in Invermere is economical and very fresh.
The ski hills are terrific and the children are always laughing and having fun. It is so beautiful and peaceful up here.

Panorama is a true hidden gem. If you can visit midweek, I can guarantee that you'll ski on the lift 90 percent of the time. And even at the weekends you'll be unlucky to wait in line longer than 5 minutes.
Panorama has a reputation from days gone by of getting icy. And whilst it's true that there are certain pitches on the highly trafficked intermediate front side runs, if you ski anywhere other than the runs under the lift lines then you'll almost always find excellent Snow. The last few years have seen big investment in grooming too, and I honestly think there's some of the best grooming anywhere in the world! Panorama even won the world grooming awards!
If groomers aren't your thing, and you're looking for the more "backcountry" style terrain BC is famous for, then prepare to be blown away by Taynton bowl, a vast back bowl with endless line choices. Here you'll often find fresh tracks days after it snows.
The new monster terrain is out past Taynton, with even more alpine style lines and if you don't fancy the walk, a new snow cat can take you up the hardest section of the hike for only 15cad.
Don't believe the snow forecast or snow fall reports here though. Panorama seems to get the biggest dumps when there's little in the forecast, and often big dumps end up being just a few cm by the time it arrives.
Snow reports are often wrong too. 5cm on the front side that is reported by the resort is often 3 to 4 times that amount on the back bowls thanks to aspects and windloading they receive.

Guess skiin comes second to music concerts — message received, I’ll take my business elsewhere. I wasn’t even halfway through my lunch and we were asked to leave the cafeteria. No one told me this when I purchased my $113 lift ticket. I came here to ski not listen to your band warm up for 4 hrs

Had the pleasure of staying at the resort over Christmas and New Years in 2018. It was an extremely family friendly resort that had lots of free and paid for activities and had little worries letting my kids out of sight. Due to the more remote location of the resort it avoids the pitfalls associated with a ski location connected to a larger community and gives the resort a very safe feeling. The mountain provides a lot of more advance terrain which allows one to grow their skills on the mountain. The village is small, but has what one may need, except for access to fresh produce. I would recommend stocking up in Invermere before going up the mountain, but the Panorama store will likely have what you need if you need to replenish stock or forgot something. The mountain invested in new snow equipment last year, and believe it was a much needed addition as some runs still had exposed rock, but they were double black runs. The main pitfall is accommodation. Most of the units rented out by the mountain are condo units or townhouses privately owned but rented through the mountain. This creates variance in the type of accommodation you may receive and a lack of amenities/services you would get with a hotel. I believe many poorer reviews are associated with not knowing the accommodation picture before one arrives assuming you will get hotel amenities/services, but luckily I knew what I was getting into. The hot pool was great for the kids and I look foreword to going back in the summer when the water slides are open and to test out all the summer activities the mountain recently added like down hill mountain biking. The mountain was quite compared to other resorts I've been to, even though it was the holiday season which made it really easy to be in the village with my kids. The lift lines were just under 5 mins on what a local told me was one of their busiest days of the year. They also told me that they considered it a very long wait for the mountain. I look foreword to going back to the mountain many more times with my family in the coming years.

amazing place to call home and work!

Panorama is a very pretty hill, not overly populated, with a good variety of runs. However we had a poor ending with our skischool experience, and would definitely not recommend it to others. Considering the time effort and funds to make a mountain vacation happen for a family-needless to say we will be trying out another mountain next time.

The groomer crew at Panorama works magic. They had so much groomed today they must have worked all night! There was still fresh tracks in Taynton and its been a few days since fresh snow fell. The sun is out and is warming things up!
