Had the pleasure of staying at the resort over Christmas and New Years in 2018. It was an extremely family friendly resort that had lots of free and paid for activities and had little worries letting my kids out of sight. Due to the more remote location of the resort it avoids the pitfalls associated with a ski location connected to a larger community and gives the resort a very safe feeling. The mountain provides a lot of more advance terrain which allows one to grow their skills on the mountain. The village is small, but has what one may need, except for access to fresh produce. I would recommend stocking up in Invermere before going up the mountain, but the Panorama store will likely have what you need if you need to replenish stock or forgot something. The mountain invested in new snow equipment last year, and believe it was a much needed addition as some runs still had exposed rock, but they were double black runs. The main pitfall is accommodation. Most of the units rented out by the mountain are condo units or townhouses privately owned but rented through the mountain. This creates variance in the type of accommodation you may receive and a lack of amenities/services you would get with a hotel. I believe many poorer reviews are associated with not knowing the accommodation picture before one arrives assuming you will get hotel amenities/services, but luckily I knew what I was getting into. The hot pool was great for the kids and I look foreword to going back in the summer when the water slides are open and to test out all the summer activities the mountain recently added like down hill mountain biking. The mountain was quite compared to other resorts I've been to, even though it was the holiday season which made it really easy to be in the village with my kids. The lift lines were just under 5 mins on what a local told me was one of their busiest days of the year. They also told me that they considered it a very long wait for the mountain. I look foreword to going back to the mountain many more times with my family in the coming years.
