Heavenly’s terrain is spread across 4,800 acres and four base areas, offering a wide range of skiing experiences. With 114 trails and 27 lifts—including gondolas, high-speed quads, and surface lifts—the resort caters to all skill levels. The vertical drop of 2,897 feet and summit elevation of 10,067 feet provide ample opportunity for long descents and scenic views. Snowmaking covers over 3,300 acres, ensuring consistent conditions throughout the season.

Beginners will find gentle terrain at Adventure Peak, accessible via the Heavenly Gondola from South Lake Tahoe. The area features wide, groomed runs and a dedicated ski school, making it ideal for first-timers and families. Boulder Bowl on the Nevada side also offers mellow slopes and easy lift access.

Intermediate skiers dominate the resort’s layout, with 60% of trails marked blue. Ridge Run and Big Dipper are standout options, offering long, scenic descents with views of Lake Tahoe. The California side features well-groomed cruisers, while the Nevada side provides more varied terrain and fewer crowds.

Advanced skiers can explore the steeper pitches of Mott Canyon and Killebrew Canyon. These areas offer challenging chutes, tree skiing, and natural features that reward confident riders. Milky Way Bowl is another favorite, with wide-open terrain and deep snow after storms.

Freestyle skiers and snowboarders can enjoy three terrain parks, each designed for different skill levels. The parks include jumps, rails, and features that evolve throughout the season. Tubing lanes near Adventure Peak add variety for families and non-skiers.

Natural features such as ridgelines, bowls, and glades enhance the mountain’s appeal. The longest run stretches 5.5 miles, offering a satisfying descent from summit to base. Whether you're carving groomers or seeking powder stashes, Heavenly’s terrain diversity ensures a rewarding experience.
