I started skiing A-Basin in January of 1968. It is the best area in the U.S.A. as far as I'm concerned. Back then, and now, the attitude has always been laid back and not the fur coat crowd type. I could tell you of some of the great times I had being in my early 20's and fresh out of the U.S.Air Force. Used to try and beat my buddy, in his 67 Corvette, from the top of Loveland Pass to the parking lot, who ever lost bought both of the lift tickets. I don't get to ski there now because I live I Washington state. Boo Hoo Hoo.
The best and greatest ski area in the world.
everything changes with time.

Long ski season, goid vibe but prices keep going up and now you have e to pay $20 to park on weekends and holidays And call and make a reservation to park. So long A Basin…

Parking is $20 and you have to have reservations on weekends and holidays. This just sucks for one of the best small local resorts

This is a great, very steep, mountain, lives up to the name "The Legend". The front side blues and greens can get a bit crowded, and definitely arrive early in the morning or you might not be able to park. Other than that though, a stellar mountain with great variety of terrain, great views and great snow.
Lots of steep terrain, good early and late season.
Ran into a few rocks, front side can be crowded

This is my go-to place at the first part of the season and my go-to place at the very very end of the season. And any place in between. They're only a few mountains where a true ski vibe remains, and this is one of them.

Spent two amazing years at A-basin in the early 1980s, although it has nearly doubled in accessible terrain since then, it has managed to keep it's skier's mountain vibe. I'm pretty much a Pali lift only skier when I'm there--if you like steep fall-line skiing, you'll know why. A word of caution, you might want to stay away on a high wind days.
Best accessible Steeps in the Rockies
Not typically a deep powder mtn.

Wonderful time was had by our entire family exploring all the slopes! We loved it!
Conditions were great; employees were friendly and there was a nice variety of terrain

First time snowboarding in Colorado, i usually use the blue slopes in Michigan, but found the green slopes too steep here.
Well groomed slopes, friendly staff
The green slopes are way too steep for beginners

Great Mountain. Just found some of the lift attendants have attitude like Matty from Conn. Ruins the experience
Great Terrain when snow is good
Some lift attendants have attitude and don't like the Gursts

A-basin is a spin back in time with steep terrain and easy going folks. My only complaint is often ski patrol and their friends make fresh tracks all day on "closed" runs and exclude paying expert skiers like myself from getting some pow turns. I understand patrolling for safety but open it to all experts not just your private group. Overall, you guys do an awesome job. Thanks
Awesome terrain and options for experts

Yeah if you write a poor review, chances are the mountain is too difficult for yourself. Or you're spoiled. This mountain is epic, the LEGEND
Terrain, snow quality, no lines
