Overall, Keystone would be great for its blue to black runs IF the mountain wasn't so overwhelmed with beginner skiers and inconsiderate snowboarders. The lack of green runs force novice skiers to the blue runs--making it dangerous for all. Schoolmarm is the primary green "family friendly" run and I was shocked to see the number of skiers straight lining down this overcrowded family run. Also the bottom of River Run is a death trap as it's too crowded with all skier types. We also didn't see any snow patrol out on the mountain and have never seen so many people crashing/falling. I would not recommend this mountain for families or beginner skiers despite the advertisement for being "family friendly". We are advanced skiers (2 Adults and 1 Child) and despite the great runs in North Peak and the Outback, we are hesitant to return due to the safety around the mountain including the obnoxious snowboarders.
Terrain to Advance Skills
Snowboarders; Lack of Green Runs; Straight Lining; Too crowded

I do not understand why this is considered a "family friendly" resort as there are very few green runs. The main green run Schoolmarm is overcrowded and dangerous. There were so many out of control skiers and people straight lining this run and others. Because there are so few green runs, new skiers are pushed to blue runs making it dangerous for everyone. Also, the snowboarders here were really terrible. We are an advanced ski family, and the clientele was very over putting. North Peak, The Outback, and Bergman were better in terms of crowds and skill. We were skiing with 3 new beginners, but it was not enjoyable for us or them. Don't let the marketing get to you; family friendly doesn't mean safe and easy.
Great for advancing skills
Sells itself has "family friendly" but doesn't have enough green runs

Could use some more cost effective options.
Close to Denver
High prices

I can only assume Keystone is representative of the pricey Vail resorts, as I haven't been to the others. Great place to ski, of course, they do a great job. And it is a wonderful mountain, with plenty of terrain of all types, even some great tree skiing on Outback and off North peak. The crowding is not very noticeable once you get over to the back bowls, however some of that terrain they close quite early in the day, as early as 1:30pm. Overall though a great mountain and so convenient for Denver, not a bad deal if you get a season pass.
All high-speed lifts, lots of terrain, perfect grooming
Expensive, can be crowded some days

Keystone is a wonderful resort that offers a wide variety of terrain for all types and levels of skiers. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Super friendly staff, lots of variety terrain-wise
Free shuttle bus fleet could use an upgrade

Keystone has a lot to offer. It has diverse terrain for all skill levels. Free parking at the base and easy to navigate trails. Overall enjoyable mountain and easy access off the highway.
Fun back bowls
A lot of beginners on the front side of the mountain

With poor conditions through much of the year Keystone like alot of resorts had issues. Too many people not enough runs. It didn't seem like they limit people when they have limited terrain open. Which is the source of many complaints. When the coverage is good. And all the runs are open you can feel isolated on weekdays. We've been here back to back seasons. First one was epic. This season not so much. Nature of the beast.
Great terrain
Crowds

It’s a great place to ski. Not that far from DIA and lots of good hard terrain.
Great mountain. Easy to navigate.
Mountain House area needs upgrading.

Overall, I enjoyed my first time at Keystone and will go back. I had a great instructor for adult beginner snowboarding. I appreciated the parking lots as compared to other locations that charge an arm and a leg to park.
Great snowboard instructor for adult learning
The main green run is pretty steep (should probably be a blue).

I liked the variety of terrain at Keystone and moved through it as the season progressed.
Early open, enjoyed getting out during November.
Got busy as season went on. Hill full of people after noon
