A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Want to get away from corporate ski resorts? Come here. Small, cozy family feel. It’s a small resort with everything you need to have fun unless you’re a big mountain poser without a realistic grasp of expectations. Anything less than a five star rating is living in pretentious land.
First time skiing at Caberfae, after 35 years of skiing in Michigan. Solid hill—some great tree skiing, good vertical for MI standards, and the BEST lift line management I’ve ever seen at a Michigan ski hill. With super long lines during COVID, they were simply asking skiers if they’d like to pair up or take on a single; some did, some declined. It made the lift lines move faster and mostly avoid singles. I’d like to see them re-install a lift in the “backcountry” area and allow skiing off the back (very steep), as the one drawback of the hill is that it has limited acreage—more variety of lift-served runs would help it be a destination.

always a good time!

For Michigan this place is not bad. Yes Crystal is way fancier and has all kinds of "resorty" facilities.. but it's huge $$$$$$$$ compared to Caberfae and Caberfae is taller and I go to ski areas to ski, not to get a mani/pedi..We got season's passes for all 4 in the family for only a little more than a single adult pass at some of the Detroit area ski areas.

A place not for snowboarders but for skiers.

Rudest I have ever been treated by employees in my life. The rental building is filled with people who hate their lives and they take it out on customers. Their egos are over inflated and trying to have a interpersonal conversation with them will result in a scolding of how you should know how they maintain their equipment and if you don't do the same to yours then your an idiot. I had a guy threaten to take my lift ticket for saying you didn't need to use lock tite; he had no smile on his face and said he was serious, it was not a joke. After letting management know what happened they shrugged me off and didn't say anything about it. What really upset me about the whole situation is this all happened in front of my 11 year old little brother who I was taking out for the day. He has talked more about that incident more than snowboarding and that isn't how I wanted the day to be remembered.

I make it a point to come to caberfae as much as I can. Best deal in the state for a day snowboarding. R dubs pub is just a little to small for the number of patrons that would like to find a seat for a drink at the hill.

Great place to ski for the entire family at a fair price.

A very good Michigan ski area. Very homey feel in the lodge and they welcome picnic style lunches. Best lift ticket prices of northern MI areas.
