We had a great time skiing with the family at The Homestead.
Great family ski area
pretty small with only 15 runs.
We are considering planning an event at The Homestead due to the wonderful service and beautiful rooms in Little Belle and the condominiums available.
Beautiful lodging very close to the slopes, excellent meals at Nonna's.
The lounge was nice but very small.
The Homestead, being on Lake Michigan and the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore is absolutely beautiful in every season. The Summer is gorgeous with the deep blue fresh water against the sandy dunes and tree covered hills surrounding it. Yes, east coasters, you cannot see to the other side of the lake and it is clear and clean. It looks quite a lot like Cape Cod and Nantucket. There is something to do all winter....skiing, both on the hills that look out over Lake Michigan and on the many cross country trail and walking the beach. Sunsets are spectacular. In the summer the beaches are gorgeous, the Homestead beach club has pools, entertainment, food, and drink. There are many activities for children. ( One can rent small boats, kayaks and tubes for floating down the beautiful, Crystal River. Camp tamarack is a fun facility for children with adult counselors.) There is fine dining in every season. The Homestead has Nonnas. In town 1-2 miles away, there is Windows at Lebear, (the chef was taught at Commandor's Palace in New Orleans.15 tables overlooking Lake Michigan and the sunsets.) Le Becasse is a small, country, perfect, French restaurant on the East side of Glen Lake. Chef Guilllaume (sp?) is masterful and his wife Brook makes one feel at home. Funistrada is great pasta, veal and chicken also on the east side of Glen Lake. All amazing, considering one is so far away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. This is where we come to relax!
