SMALL LOCAL SKI AREA WHICH DOES A GREAT JOB GROOMING GIVEN ITS LESS THAN FRIENDLY SNOW LOCATION AND HONESTLY REPORTING CONDITIONS WHICH IS A HUGE ASSET FOR NEW AND OLDER SKIERS.
IT DOES A GOOD JOB HAVING A VARIETY OF TERRAIN GIVEN THE SIZE RESTRICTION
A GREAT LOCAL MOUNTAIN. EXCEPTIONALLY WELL MAINTAINED AND GROOMED GIVEN ITS LOCATION AND SIZE. THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE
WE CAN ALWAYS TRUST THE GROOMING REPORT ACCURACY--IMPORTANT TO US SENIORS WHO WANT TO AVOID CERTAN CONDITIONS
THIS YEAR (THE YR. OF COVID) WE'VE HAD EATEN SEVERAL TIMES AT THE PUB WHICH HAS A PLEASANT OUTSIDE SEATING AREA FACING THE MOUNTAIN
IT'S MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE!!

Another good day at mount Peter!
Ive taken my family here several times and always enjoyed it - best to visit after recent snow as being so far south it struggles to maintain fresh powder. Perfect for my daughter(7yr old novice skier) to improve her skills ,and for my wife and i to build confidence.Lift lines were very efficient even on Martin Luther King day with a decent crowd there, facilities were excellent for a small resort and we really enjoyed the Crepe hut ! Overall a lovely resort and perfect to find your feet early in the season.

A great family-oriented ski area close to NYC. I would consider having my kids join the racing program. We had a leisurely Sunday morning in Manhattan then drove up to get a half day skiing. It's only 400+ feet of vertical so runs are short. It's a great way to do laps and improve.

We visited on 12/27 and was met with a larger crowd which the resort staff said they had never seen before making logistics a nightmare! It was a 3 hour process to purchase lift tickets and get rentals (albeit we were a large group of 10). The rental equipment looked either very new or super old. A child had a mouse run out of his boot (a determined little sucker as I remembered the boots were hung upside down) . By the time we hit snow my 2 year old was exhausted and so was I. All others had a great time, especially with the free lesson. It also was nice that they have lessons for little ones, only requirement is potty training. I expressed my troubles with the intake process to customer service and Renee far outdid herself in accommodating my complaint and making sure we come back again. She earned back every star given in this review by showing kindness, listening, earnestness, and empathy. Customer service made me believe they will work on the trouble spots and they believe in their product so they truly wanted us to have a great experience and visit again...that alone is priceless!

Mount Peter is a great place. 12 years ago I went skiing for the first time in my life and it ended in a helicopter ride to the hospital. Today I went to Mount Peter and went skiing for the first time since then. Regine Hevner is an awesome instructor. I was so nervous but she talked me through it all. She had me skiing pretty well after only one trip down the mountain with her. By the end of the day, thanks to her instructions, I even went down the blue slopes. I didn't fall once today. The rest of the staff was also very nice. Facilities were clean. Overall, amazing place.

This is 25 minutes from my house so I suppose that's what I love about it the most. Besides Mountain Creek, this is the closest mountain to NYC. I only go because my kids are young beginners and even they will outgrow this place soon. Late afternoon / evening is the most economical time to ski. Lots of schools go on Friday night but it's still not too crowded usually.

Mt Peter is a smaller-scaled, non-intimidating place for beginners and never-haves to learn. Chairlifts are gentle but with lots of stopping because of beginners wait times can get a little long considering how short the runs are. That said, the crowding is nowhere near as bad as many other places and the wait times are never that bad.
Instructors are enthusiastic and good -- it's a great place to learn. Advanced skiiers are there, let's face it, because their kids are learning there. They do a great job maintaining the snow on the mountain, considering what they can be up against -- this season has had diabolically bad weather but they manage to make the snow actually fresh and usable even under horrible climate conditions.
You're paying for convenience and you do get value for money. I find Mt Peter well organized, friendly, and working hard for beginners.

Went here and snow was like tiny sand ice. Tried to get a refund and the lady was very rude and said she didn't care if we came back. Only went down the mountain two times. No place for beginners to practice, it's all or nothing. Stayed for about an hour. Female bathroom line was coming out of the door. No fresh snow. Overall one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Will not be returning. Waste of time.
