Coronet Peak Trail Map
Coronet Peak’s terrain spans 40 km of trails with a vertical drop of 462 meters, offering a mix of groomed runs, natural features, and freestyle zones. The resort is served by 8 lifts, including the Coronet Express six-seater, Greengates Express, Meadows Express, and surface lifts in the beginner area. The layout is intuitive, with clear progression zones and expansive bowls that cater to all skill levels.
Beginners will find comfort in the lower slopes near Meadows Express, where Little Easy and Big Easy provide gentle terrain for learning. The covered magic carpet and ski school programs make this area ideal for families and first-timers. Tubing lanes add a playful non-ski option for kids and adults alike.
Intermediate skiers can explore trails like M1 and Greengates, which offer rolling terrain and consistent grooming. These runs are perfect for cruising and refining technique, with scenic views of Arrowtown and Lake Wakatipu. The Greengates Express provides access to quieter slopes and a mix of blue and red-rated terrain.
Advanced skiers will appreciate the steeper pitches on Shirtfront and Exchange Drop. These areas feature natural gullies, wind lips, and variable snow conditions that reward agility and control. The terrain under Greengates is especially dynamic, with boardercross features and tight turns.
Expert skiers can hike to the Back Bowls for access to steep chutes and off-piste lines. These zones are not patrolled and require avalanche awareness, but they deliver dramatic descents and solitude. The terrain is raw and rewarding, especially after fresh snowfall.
Freestyle riders can head to the terrain parks near the base and mid-mountain. Features include rails, boxes, and small-to-medium kickers. The parks are maintained daily and designed for progression and creativity. Natural features across the mountain also offer freestyle opportunities for those who prefer organic terrain.
