Snow Reporter Comments: Last Updated: Mon 14 Jul 11:47 AM Fine with light winds It’s a bluebird beauty up here on the Peak. The kind of day where you soak in that view over Whakatipu. Cold overnight temps have worked their magic, drying out the snow and laying down grippy, firm cord for your morning laps. Start your day carving the M1, Hurdle and Upper Greengates, but keep your eyes peeled for marked areas on Greengates. Learners slopes will also be in primo condition. The dusting of snow yesterday has left its mark. A light dusting on a firm snowpack. Snow coverage remains on the thinner side, so look out for those slippery tussocks. We’re keeping our eyes on a system rolling in tomorrow night that’s looking likely to freshen things up nicely.

Coronet Peak is New Zealand’s most popular ski destination, mainly due to its proximity to Queenstown. Located in the heart of the South Island of New Zealand, Coronet Peak is only a 20-minute drive from Queenstown and provides visitors with majestic views of Lake Wakatipu, Lake Hayes and The Remarkables.  Because of its extensive snowmaking facilities, Coronet Peak is one of the last ski areas to close in the Southern Hemisphere, with a season that typically runs from June to mid-October. The mountain offers great terrain for all abilities, and night skiing is also available on weekends.
