Snow Reporter Comments: Today at Coronet Peak 18 August 2026 — It's a crisp, sunny day at the Peak, with the snowmakers hard at work overnight laying down a fresh dusting across the mountain. Expect firm conditions under that fresh snow first thing, with plenty of corduroy from the grooming team, easing into softer, more enjoyable turns as the sun works through the day. Off-piste is holding light powder. It's currently 0.4 degrees with passing cloud and a light southwesterly, heading to a high of -1 and a low of -4. Coronet Express, Greengates Express, Meadows Learner Express, Rocky Gully T-bar, Magic Carpet Conveyor, Beginner Carpet Conveyor, Kidszone Carpet and Skiwiland Conveyor are all running, with First Tracks also open for an early start and Night Ski going Wednesday and Friday. The road up is open and cars are currently chain-free, though chains should always be carried. Car Parks 1–3 are full, with spaces available in 4–6 and the Lower Carpark 7. Heidi's Hut, the West End Eatery, Altitude Bar, the Sled Shed and the Aperol Ice Bar are all open, along with rentals, the ski and board workshop, and the sightseeing gondola. With the cold weather today, Heidi's Hut is the pick for a mid-morning coffee and one of their pizzas.
