Ohau Snow Fields is perched high above Lake Ōhau in Canterbury’s Mackenzie Basin, offering expansive views of Aoraki/Mt. Cook and the Southern Alps. With a base elevation of 1,425 meters and a summit reaching 1,825 meters, the resort spans 600 hectares (1,483 acres) and receives an average of 300 cm of snowfall annually. The terrain is treeless and open, making it ideal for wide carving turns and panoramic vistas.The mountain features 15 trails accessed by 3 lifts, including a quad chair and two surface lifts. Trail difficulty is well-balanced: 13% beginner, 27% intermediate, 33% advanced, and 27% expert.
