Porters Ski Area, formally known as Porter Heights, is a ski field located on New Zealand&rsquo;s South Island. Porters Ski area is situated on the southern end of the Craigieburn Range and only 85km from Christchurch. 
Porters was founded as a club ski field and even though many of the facilities are upgraded and modern, Porters still retains the warm inviting atmosphere that local club ski fields are known for. Porters Ski Area is great for beginners and advanced skiers and riders alike.
Visitors are also treated to great views of the Southern Alps and Mt.Cook.

Porter Heights Alpine Lodge (owned and operated by the Porter Heights Ski Club) is situated just five minutes below the ski area car park. It is a modern complex incorporating 6 bunk rooms and 40 beds, fully serviced with its own resident manager and qualified chef.

Porters Ski Area has multiple terrain options for visiting snowboarders and skiers. Beginners can be at ease with large, groomed runs that offer plenty of space for getting those turns down. 
Porters also has plenty of advanced terrain for the more adventurous type. Big Mama is an excellent long intermediate run and check out the multiple lines off Bluff Face.

Cafeteria, ski and snowboard hire, ski repair, daily shuttle services, ski and snowboard school, school group specials, and ski club.
Porters also has an extensive amount of snow making equipment and grooming capabilities.
