We just came home from a weeks vacation in Deer Valley Ski resort and can not say enough great things about it. Short lines, only skiers. Their covid guidelines were amazing. The safety and security we felt there was refreshing. I highly recommend the free Mount tour. We had Scott Rhodes as our intermediate guide and he took us on a two hour tour of the mountain. We went from the west to the farthest east of the mountain we got to explore areas we would have missed. Will return to deer valley next year.... Full Review
My son and I flew in to ski Park City, but reserved one day at Deer Valley, because we heard that it has a reputation for superior customer service. What a disappointment!! We spent 40 minutes in line just to pick up our pre-ordered tickets, then another 30 minutes in the lift line just to get onto the mountain. Once on the mountain, we found DV’s famed reputation for superior trail grooming to be no better than Park City’s. The ski terrain was “just OK”, with chair lifts serving the upper peaks less than 1,500 vertical. My advice - don’t waste $200-plus on a Lift ticket for Deer Valley. You get a much better experience at Park City for a lot less money!... Full Review
All I can say is wow. After having visited nearly every major resort in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico I can easily say Deer Valley is my favorite. The mountain is laid out so well - getting from one peak to the next is a breeze. part of the reason why is that there are NO CROWDS. And the staff is so nice - not full of ski bums who don't care about customer service like other places. And the place was great for as bad of a snow year as 2020/2021 has been.... Full Review
The corduroy snow is fantastic and the staff always seems to be very happy and friendly. More skiers with IKON but not the terrible line like over at Park City Epic. Longest line at Northside we experienced was maybe 5 minutes on a sold out day
The food is alway makes me happy great restaurants slopeside!

Service oriented all-skier resort experience. Most snow making in North America! IKON passes (limited days--not unlimited like EPIC) have made DV more crowded, but with good reason. Wonderful experience. I'll take the great grooming, amazing lunches, and professional mature staff any day of the week! I only wish that Snow Park lodge had a cool apres ski bar, instead of a family friendly area. Weekend tip--tiny raw bar at top of Gondola has great oysters and wine with outdoor views of Jordonelle! Picture Perfect.... Full Review
Way, way too crowded due to your epic and ikon passes. Has become ridiculously crowded and unsafe!.
Your cafeteria prices are insane. I’m hearing all this from my visiting friends and real estate clients.
These situation have made the skiing experience at DV frightfully dangerous and unnecessary expensive. A nothing burger + cold fries $23, cmon!!!!!!... Full Review
Too crowded and the resort can’t handle it. I was hit by an out of control skier on a black slope today. No way to report it since we didn’t see one ski patrol member all day. Skier that hit me left before I was able to get up.
I am a season pass holder. Very disappointed.... Full Review
Deer Valley is a high quality skiing experience. Let me immediately say that if ALL you want to do is ski double blacks then don't go here. Deer Valley has a great variety of terrains, but they are more known for their awesome grooming. All of the staff members are so helpful and welcoming, the lodge food is top notch, and especially if you are travelling with a family you should look no further. I'll take Deer Valley over any other resort in the US any day of the week :)... Full Review
I grew up in CO and have been skiing for 70 years. I was lucky enough to grow up with Vail, Breck, Copper, Deer Valley and have skied many, many resorts in Europe. I have had the luxury of enjoying great service and snow. Also, unfortunately, the opposite and in between. I started skiing Deer Valley about 25 years ago with my children primarily because of the suburb service, attention to detail, low skier density, and snow. The snow is still very good. I spent 30 days in DV last winter and am sad to say the service, attention to detail, and skier density are all suffering. It gives the impression that they are so interested in bringing the crowds (read Icon Pass) that they have become overwhelmed and are no longer willing or able to deliver a true Deer Valley experience. Most of the folks that are old time Deer Valley are still great, trying hard, and interested in creating a good experience. Too many of the new are not. I plan to spend 30 days again this season. I hope it is not my last. I am not putting my name on this review as I do not want to have a target on my back this winter.... Full Review
While still a beautiful resort the overall special feeling of past years has been diminished by a much less apparent skier oriented and increased bottom line oriented new ownership. The slopes have been much more crowded. While in part due to a great snow season the addition of IKON pass holders has significantly contributed as has the increased "maximum" ticket sales on a given day. Is the welcoming of snow boarders on the horizon?
Overall the skier experience has diminished. Limited snow making and therefore grooming in the early season was a clear indication of what was to come. Higher prices with diminished service. Had there not been abundant snow fall I wonder what ski conditions would have been like. I hope this is not the beginning of the end of Deer Valley as a special place.... Full Review
