One of my favorite ski resorts in the U.S., it is only skiers, there is great food, the staff is outstanding, there is so much terrain to explore, and the snow is soft, making the resort friendly to all different ages and ski levels. What more could you ask for?
Good snow, kind staff, amazing ski patrol, good food, skiers only, variety of terrain
cost is a bit expensive

Great resort - well run operations - grooming and lifts
No snow boarders
Food was expensive

There should be more challenging terrain, and sometimes even after it’s just snowed, it’s icy.
Beginner terrain
Not very challenging resort

Gosh this entire resort is gorgeous, very long green and blue runs that weave around the upper village. Amazing dining options with grand log cabin resorts. It is definitely a five star resort with a price tag to match. Worth the splurge
incredibley beautiful runs, wonderful dining and luxury apres ski
Expensive

Go! Fantastic ski resort!
Low crowds and no lines weeks before Christmas. Staff INCREDIBLY friendly! Snow conditions and slopes in great condition which we were concerned about being early in the season. Best thing overall was that we could check our skis at the bottom of the slop
No night skiing

See the pros and cons. Make the trip and spend a little more to ski instead of wait in lift lines.
Skiing only, so no beginner snowboarders to navigate around or expert ones zooming by at top speeds cutting you off. Didn’t think they limited lift tickets until we went to Park City the next day and experienced 40+ minute lift lines. At Deer Valley the l
Well it is expensive, but if you can afford it or get an Icon pass it is well worth the experience.

This is incredible and huge, place with great skiing and good snow. The food and lodges are great, and it is a pretty luxury kind of resort. The RIFD is nice, the empoyees are great and it is a amazing ski resort. It works for full family, with ok expert terrain and great intermediate and beginner terrain.
Incredible destination, and the ultimate winter vacation.
While it may be the best resort for a vacation it is super expensive.

I live so close to Deer Valley that I can see it from my window, but had never skiied it until this year, when I bought an Ikon pass that gave me seven days there. I was so excited to finally try it after hearing great things. What a letdown! I usually ski Park City Resort (and have skiied it 15 times so far this season), and I totally regret my wasting so much money to add on a week at Deer Valley. The runs are insanely icy for such an abundant snow year, and there are all kinds of black diamond runs that never get groomed all season, so absolutely nobody is using them. This puts the speedy skiers on the groomed Intermediate runs, which is dangerous. Given the clientele that I have observed there, none of them are there for mogul skiing, so why not groom some expert runs? At Park City I have my choice of more than a dozen groomed expert runs every day, and the snow is much softer with far less ice. I was also hoping for less lift stoppages because there are no snowboarders and they use expediters, but the lifts stop more often than at Park City - there were also two mechanical failures in the same day that resulted in long delays and slow lift speeds. The crowds are worse than at Park City, in spite of the claim that they limit ticket sales, and there are way more children skiing unpredictably. This resort seems geared to people who don't really want to ski, but want to drop their kids off at a ski school while they sit in the lodge and eat really expensive, mediocre food. The lodges are quite nice, but I am there to ski, not sit around using boot dryers and charging my phone. I have used two of my seven days and am actually dreading having to go five more times, but I am going to teach myself a lesson and tough it out. How this resort has been consistently voted best in the country is beyond me.
Great facilities
Crowded, icy, so many kids

Can't beat the grooming and staff is very friendly. None of the ticket kiosk machines would work for anyone the day we were there, so had to wait in line to get RFID ticket. The price selling point of controlling crowds by limiting tickets is really not a benefit during the week. We did enjoy the day, but not sure the value is there for the price and overall the resort has declined in my mind in recent years.
Great mountain for intermediates and advanced intermediates. Grooming is excellent.
Too expensive compared to other resorts in the area
