Love this mountain!! The vibe is always great, the people are friendly and it never feels over crowded. The parties on the deck in the spring are always a good time. I love the tree skiing and the grooming never disappoints.
Fantastic vibe, people and terrain are great

This was my first time back at 49 after living out of the area for a few years. The improvements to this place are nothing short of amazing. The quad got us to the top in what felt like 5 minutes. The grooming was perfect, and there were still huge powder stashes in the trees, so everybody in my group was happy. This place is so big I don’t think we skied the same run twice. There were a ton of cars in the parking lot, but the mountain didn’t feel crowded at all. There was even live music in the bar! And an awesome surprise – take and bake pizza. After a day of hard skiing (no rest when the lift is that fast) I didn’t want to have to make dinner, and I didn’t have to. Literally picked up a take and bake pizza on my way back to the car! Perfect day!
great terrain, not crowded, friendly staff
Wish there was on-mountain lodging

I absolutely love skiing at 49. I've gotten a couple-dozen days in here over the past few years and have enjoyed each of them. The recent investments in snowmaking and the base-to-summit high speed quad have really make this place a solid ski destination. Its got a friendly staff, good food, and a chill vibe. I've got young kids and they really enjoy it. The beginner set-up for new skiers and boarders is really good. The Payday lift serves several green runs that all funnel back to the chair. The intermediate and advanced terrain is where this mountain really shines. The blue and black runs that drop off the ridges are a blast to ski, and several treed sections have been gladed out and ski incredibly well. This is my favorite area to ski in the Inland Northwest.
Loads of acreage and great tree skiing
Lack of sustained expert skiing terrain

I've been riding this mountain of and on since the late 90s. It became my "home mountain" about ten years ago because it's an easy drive from Spokane, the people who work and play here are fantastic, and it isn't crowded even when it's busy. And the Silver/49 combo pass is an awesome deal!! The snow making makes a huge difference during seasons of warm weather and low snow fall. Pretty stoked all around.
Lots of terrain, fun trees, nice groomers, nice gear one the retail shop, awesome staff, good food!
Anything I think of as a detriment is planned to be fixed in the coming few years.

This place has great terrain for everyone. The best tree skiing I’ve ever encountered. Snowmaking has been a game changer and it sounds like there is more to come. This has been a lean year for snow in the NW and you couldn’t tell by looking at the base. The crews have done a great job managing a low snow year. Looking forward to the ever expanding operations in the future.
Trail fall lines are top notch
Need more racing!

A hidden gem of a resort with plenty of space for everyone
Long fall line and immaculate grooming, high speed lift, gourmet food, friendly staff
not enough expert terrain

I love t his mountain (most the time). It's probably my favorite (most the time) but when they say groomed it should be groomed!
No lines almost ever
When they say it's groomed and it's not! I can and will ski groomed black diamonds all day but when you get to the top and are selecting lots of groomed runs (because it says they are) and you encounter 10+ inches of powder that can mess you up. It's a co

The high speed chair is a game changer and a quick pace to the top. I have never thought that it was ever too crowded. The food is phenomenal (new food and beverage manager is killing it) and people are really helpful and kind. The prices are great as well! There will be a new lodge coming and is sorely needed to expand and update the departments. Tons of classes, you can't get bored. There is day care, lessons, a Nordic center, a (less used) alternative lift/parking spots on the Cy's side, awesome retail (which has an awesome variety of waterproof items) which I think you get what you pay for -they have mid range and up -so NO crappy/useless stuff in there, rental equipment is brand new! If you want a simply good time this is your place, it really is a hidden gem (almost like that favorite fishing spot you hesitate to tell others about)
Wide variety, something for everyone
Needs a bigger lodge (which is coming)

Under its former long time owner 49 Degrees North took pride in being a “Family Friendly” ski area. Not only were the ticket prices among the most affordable the day lodge offered an area were families could feed their kids in a “brown bag” area with food and drink from home...that their kids would eat! Other skiers who didn’t like walking in ski boots in the slippery parking lot brought their boots up to the lodge and left their “street shoes” in a bag tucked under a table or in a corner. These are friendly courtesies no longer available under the new owners (who also own Silver Mountain). Now in the day lodged there are signs everywhere stating that No Outside Food or Beverages are allowed. This results in a day of skiing becoming even more expensive to the family bringing kids. Additional signs inform that if you leave that sports bag with your extra gear it will be removed to the Lost and Found area. Not so friendly. At the end of the day I spoke to some Mountain Hosts who volunteer to guide skier unfamiliar with the area. The new ownership has taken away their storage area where they could store skies etc. so they didn’t have to drag them up every duty day. A large number of these hosts are beyond retirement age! On a positive note, the new owners have made improvements to the ski terrain so 49 remains a good place to ski….sadly, just not so friendly.
good conditions,
