MTC

We discovered Black Mountain a couple of years ago and keep coming back! We tried King Pine and found it to be a bit small. We tried Attitash and Cranmore and always felt a little "lost in the shuffle"... Wildcat was fun for the adults, but we never felt comfortable letting our kids roam free in the elements. Black is PERFECT. Small, but a great variety of terrain. Although the overall elevation isn't huge, there are wandering trails that allow for some nice longer runs. There are never any lift lines. Many of the families who ski at Black have been coming for generations -- it's a tradition. Wonderful family-friendly atmosphere as a result. Also, the kid programs are small and the coaches are adults so it's not just day care on snow with babysitters. They really seem to care about teaching and having fun on the safe side and raising ski-lifers.
