Mt. Cheeseman Ski Resort Trail Map
Mt. Cheeseman’s terrain is centered around a southeast-facing bowl that captures morning sun and holds snow well. The skiable area spans 10 km of trails with a vertical drop of 334 meters. The resort is served by 3 surface lifts: two T-bars and a learner’s rope tow, which provide access to groomed runs and off-piste zones across the mountain.
Beginners will find comfort in the learner’s area adjacent to the Day Lodge. The rope tow accesses gentle slopes with consistent grooming, making it ideal for first-timers and children. The proximity to the lodge means easy breaks and warm-up sessions between runs.
Intermediate skiers can explore the groomed trails off the Main T-bar, which offer rolling terrain and scenic views. These runs are wide and forgiving, perfect for building confidence and enjoying long, uninterrupted descents.
Advanced skiers will appreciate the steeper terrain accessed by the Top T-bar. The upper slopes feature natural ridgelines, wind lips, and variable snow conditions that reward technical skill and creative line choice. Mt. Cockayne’s face offers challenging off-piste options with minimal effort to reach.
Expert skiers can hike to Tarn Basin for backcountry-style descents. This area is not patrolled and requires avalanche awareness, but it delivers deep powder and dramatic alpine scenery. The hike is short, and the payoff is big—especially after fresh snowfall.
Freestyle riders can head to the terrain park near the base, which includes a series of jumps, boxes, and rails. The park is well-maintained and designed for progression, making it suitable for riders of all levels. Natural features across the mountain also offer freestyle opportunities for those who prefer organic terrain.
