Snow Reporter Comments: Monday, 15th Sep 2025 Porters is open today -- upper mountain lifts are currently on wind hold at 1pm. It’s looking like we have a mixed bag of weather in store today, with a regular resupply of some of Canterbury’s finest mountain air passing through the ski area. At 5:45am, we have clear skies and light winds in the base area, rising to moderate on the upper mountain. The temperature is currently 4 degrees. The forecast is for these winds to increase later today, and this may impact operation of our upper mountain lifts – this morning will be the best of the day. We expect to open Bluff Face this morning, but this is subject to winds playing ball. Sundance was groomed wall to wall early this morning, and will be fun this morning. Our upper mountain intermediate trails through McNulty’s and into Stellar have been groomed nice and wide. Easy Street and the Platter area have been groomed wide, and will have great conditions today.
