Snow Reporter Comments: Last update: Tuesday, 4th Aug 2026 Morrisons Porters is open with all lifts spinning from 9am. 7:15am update - conditions on the mountain currently are strong winds and snow. Visibility is low and it is very cold. Snow wasn't in the forecast for us, but we will take it! At 5:45am, the temperature is minus 3, and we have light southwest winds on the lower mountain, increasing to moderate on the upper mountain. Winds are forecast to increase somewhat later today, and may impact lift operations on the upper mountain. With the wind and low temperatures, dress for winter today, it will feel cold. Skies are partly cloudy. Our road today is chain free. We recommend that all vehicles carry chains in winter, as conditions can change rapidly. Overnight we have groomed upper mountain intermediate trails through McNulty’s Basin and Stellar Bowl. McNulty’s has some great wind drifted snow. Easy Street and the beginners area have been groomed wide, and with recent new snow, there should be some fun skiing and riding on chalky snow. There are icy patches off trail where the wind has stripped recent new snow. Pop into our cafe to warm up with a hot drink and some food, or head into Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar, which will be open for coffee from 9am, and meals from 11am. Snowplay at the Lodge will be opening at 10am today. Chains are not required to access the Lodge or Snowplay. Our free shuttle service will be doing return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 9:30am and 10:30am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon.
