Snow Reporter Comments: 4th Aug 2025 Porters is open with all lifts spinning, and it’s looking like more of the same great weather and fun times to start the week! At 5:45 am, we have clear skies and light winds at all elevations, it is a pleasant 6 degrees in the base area. The forecast is for sunny skies, light winds and warm temperatures to continue all day. Overnight we have made more snow on our lower mountain trails. All trails will be a lot of fun today, and are expected to soften as the sun comes up and temperatures rise. There are also some good turns to be had off piste. Unmarked hazards do exist, so please ski & ride with care. The access road is currently chain-free. We recommend in winter that all vehicles carry chains. Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 9:30am and 10:30am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon. If you’re looking for a lesson, pop into our ticket office and book a spot with one of our instructors – we have options for all ages and abilities. Kids 10 and under ski for free at Porters. Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar, just 6km up our access road, will be open for coffee from 9am, and meals from 11am. Pop in for Apres after enjoying a day on our uncrowded slopes. Snowplay will be closed today. Check back during the week for updates.
