Snow Reporter Comments: Saturday, January 17, 5:18 a.m. - Kick off the holiday weekend skiing and riding under sunny skies at Solitude. With 68 open trails, Solitude has something for every ability level. Beginners will find rolling groomers on the lower mountain while expert skiers can drop into Honeycomb Canyon through the Buckeye Junior and Powderhorn gates. Intermediates will love Sunshine Bowl and Main Street once the sun goes to work. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions on the mountain today. Please check your speed and be aware of other skiers and riders, especially at breakovers and trail merges. Keep an eye out for patrol signage marking slow zones. Our first ever Fire & Ice Festival debuts today, featuring a rail jam, magic show, Utah Mammoth Watch Party, and more. A DJ will be spinning outside Last Chance Lodge throughout holiday. Have a fantastic Saturday at Solitude!
