A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
I went in mid-January in very cold weather, which I didn't mind until the lift stopped moving for 20 minutes. Other than that, the lodges are great, I loved the steeped narrow runs typical of Vermont skiing. The windswept runs were very icy but still manageable. I had a ski pass from another mountain so I didn't have to pay for my lift ticket but the window rates seem expensive, especially for kids and teens. Worth a try if you have an Ikon pass, but not so much if you have to by a daily ticket. Mount Glenn alone was interesting as well, but you get around it fairly fast.

No longer a family friendly, locals mountain. Sugarbush has fallen prey to the greed and carelessness of huge rocky Mnt resorts. Even worse, as I’ve never paid $235 for a day even at Vail. $456 for two day passes. No student discounts, even for UVM. We needed a pair of boots for the day and paid $60. This is corporate greed at its worst; ruining opportunity for all but the wealthiest class. Sugarbush, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Continuing lift troubles since Alterra bought the place. None of the lifts at Mt Ellen work reliably now. North Ridge Express and Inverness were out for the beginning of the season. Now Green Mt Express is down. The other two still struggling with frequent stops and break-downs. Over at Lincoln Peak, Heavens gate often stops for half an hour or doesn't work at all.

Took my family here in march of 22. We caught a nice snow dump sat/sun. Enjoyed it but for what it costs , the setbacks did not make me pumped to come back. Way overcrowded Saturday ( 1hr lift lines) in conjunction with 50% lift closures by 1 pm. Not first time this happend to me there. Yrs ago, they did offer free day next, if you could come back bc power went out on the whole mtn . Mt ellen was pretty great day 2 and much quieter. Still had some lift issues . Crowding is bad at lunch at both mtns but where is it not superpacked on a weekend ski spot for lunch ! Overall would love to come back mudseason weekdays.

My daughter has been at Sugarbush for the week of 3/29-4/2 and the pricing is too high. She reported that she could go to nearby Stowe for much less for a full weekday ticket. I'm a senior skier and own a condo at Sugarbush, but really don't want to travel to Stowe to ski because of pricing. Also I hate to see my daughter and sons (2) go and stay at Stowe due to lift ticket pricing.

Made a reservation on my phone at Castle Rock restaurant for 3:00 got a confirmation went to the restaurant they didn’t have my reservation then they said that I would have to wait until 4:30! And the place was empty I said forget it! Then I went to reserve a pair of demo skis at the Farmhouse they said they have the skis again have to make a reservation to get the skis so I made it for 8:30 am the next day. And when I got there they said they didn’t even carry the skis I reserved!

Deborah stay at killington please! You will fit in. The valley is for cool people. Look into this covid-19 thing it cause some issues for vt and the resorts.

It is with great sadness that I have to write such a negative review of this facility. Our family lives in NJ and our children learned to ski at Sugarbush. Ever since, we have been skiing there each spring yearly for over a decade. In 2019 we were unable to have our family ski trip due to the closing Sugarbush during the Pandemic. We purchased three Quad Passes to prepare for our annual trip. Sugarbush has only extended the use of these passes a few weeks into the 2020-2021 ski season, to be used prior to 12/24/20. It is not feasible for our family of 5 to plan a trip on such short notice. After several e-mails with the manager, Rob, we were informed that they will NOT extend the use of the passes for the entire 2020-2021 ski season. We can certainly use these passes prior to May 2021. Based on the lack of the use through out the entire season, my family will be losing over $1000. Sugarbush did not offer any refund ( full or partial), or no consideration for use past December 24th. We are extremely disappointed in the lack of understanding, deficiency in flexibility and greedy behavior exhibited by this multimillion dollar resort.
We use to rave about this family-friendly facility, now we will certainly let others know about the how cheep and narrow-minded the management is.
Other skiers...spend your money elsewhere! Enjoy other mountains!
Mountain has unfulfilled potential, but currently it is nightmare to ski based on lack of adequate snowmaking and grooming.
