I went here for a party weekend in LA and Big Bear did just that! Despite being so close to LA, it was fairly chill and was indicative to some party laps. Being with some beginner/intermediate friends, we were able to find enough runs for them to get down comfortably and challenge them a bit. The snow quality was not good, lots of ice and I think the majority of the snow up there is made by machines. Because there is not a lot of snow the already small resort is further limited, if I was with a more advanced group, we would have been bored. There are also a lot of beginners, which are not by themselves bad, but since the resort is so small, you can't really get away from them. I spent most of the day dodging Jerrys. For paying over $150/day I would have wanted more.
