A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Spent two full days skiing at Snowmass (main mountain) over President's day weekend and my expectations were exceeded. Long, varied, beautiful runs everywhere. Barely a line and fast lifts. I'd say it's geared towards intermediates but plenty to explore for more advanced skiers. For what you get, the place is a still a deal at 200ish bucks, and even better with an IKON pass. I'd recommend staying a bit north - Glenwood Springs is great- to save some money and break up the 4-hour drive from Denver airport. I also found the resort to be pretty chill. Everyone was friendly and not too flashy. I'll be back.

Everything is very expensive, more then doubble than skiing in europe, every restaurant looks the same, very difficoult to go around town, not easy to get a taxi, staying downtown becomes a must. pistes badly groomed and very bumpy

Beautiful ski resort. Long fun slopes with lots of choice. Signaling can be better... sometimes you are playing a route and then the names of the slopes disappear/change, leaving you wonder where you are going. Lifts could be faster.

Snowmass is the best ski area in North America. It has everything. Aspen Highlands is a double black diamond terrain only for experts. Aspen Village ski is overrated. My 5 star is for a combination of all and top ratings go for Snowmass.

Have skied Europe and other North American resorts but Snowmass is still my favourite. Hardly ever a lift line and you can always find a run where you feel like the only skier on it. Excellent ski in/out lodgings.

Skied all four mountains on 5-day Ikon Base+.
Highlands was favorite due to intermediate to expert terrain and uncrowded conditions that preserved snow quality longer than the other mountains. RFTA Intermountain bus service was reliable but inconveniently required transferring bus lines. On mountain lodges and services smartly placed. And après scene is adequate at Ajax and Snowmass.

Skied Ajax, Aspen Highlands and Snowmass. The best resort I have ever skied of 55. So much variety and vertical. The incredible trees of the Big Burn. It's been many years since I was there, this is #1 to me.

Our family has been skiing Aspen Snowmass every year since 2015. Over the years there have been continuous improvements in lifts and amenities on the mountain as well as a build out of the Snowmass base village. We spend most of our time on Snowmass, which is the largest of the 4 mountains, and enjoy spending a day here and there on the other 3 mountains. Snowmass is very family friendly and much of the lodging is ski-in and ski-out.

Aspen Snowmass has a wide variety of terrain. This is a fantastic mountain for racing, side-country skiing, park and pipe and free skiing. The food at the mountain lodges is absolutely terrible except for Pizza Up at the top of Big Burn. The powderhorn, the wall and AMF are fun runs on powder days. This is a great place to go spring skiing in early April. This mountain should stay open until May 1st but it closes too early due to the Elk migration. Big Air Dave has spoken…
