Overview

Aspen Snowmass, located in Colorado's stunning Rocky Mountains, is one of the premier ski destinations in the world. Nestled in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley, this resort complex encompasses four unique mountains: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass. Together, they offer an expansive 5,600+ acres of terrain, with 363 trails and over 38 lifts, catering to skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Snowmass, the largest of the four mountains, features wide-open cruisers, steeps, and glades, while Aspen Mountain is renowned for its challenging black diamond runs and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

Aspen/Snowmass is more than just a ski resort—it's a complete winter experience. The charming town of Aspen is famous for its vibrant après-ski scene, high-end dining, and luxurious shopping, offering a perfect blend of rustic mountain charm and world-class amenities. Whether you're carving turns on perfectly groomed trails or soaking in the lively atmosphere of downtown Aspen, a visit to this resort promises excitement, adventure, and luxury, making it a top destination for skiers and snowboarders alike.

Inside Scoop

On a powder day, head straight to Aspen Highlands' Highland Bowl for epic, untouched snow and steep pitches that will test even the most experienced skiers. Snowmass also offers plenty of hidden powder stashes, especially in the Hanging Valley Glades and the Burnt Mountain area. If you want to avoid the crowds, explore the less frequented terrain of Buttermilk, where you'll find fresh tracks in a more relaxed atmosphere.

For après-ski, Aspen’s downtown is the place to be. Iconic spots like the Ajax Tavern, located at the base of Aspen Mountain, offer the perfect place to unwind with a drink and watch the sun set over the mountains. Insider tip: If you're looking for a more laid-back vibe, head to the Woody Creek Tavern, a local favorite just a short drive from Aspen. And for those looking to ski under the radar, try the Snowmass Elk Camp gondola late in the day—perfect for catching sunset runs with fewer skiers.
