Hanmer Springs Ski Area is nestled in the Saint James Range of Canterbury, New Zealand, just 17 km from the alpine village of Hanmer Springs. With a base elevation of 1,459 meters and a summit reaching 1,769 meters, the ski field spans 52 hectares (128 acres) and receives an average of 150 cm of snowfall annually. The resort features 5 trails served by 3 surface lifts, including a Poma, rope tow, and fixed-grip tow. The vertical drop of 310 meters offers a compact but engaging mountain experience.The terrain breakdown includes 20% beginner, 40% intermediate, 20% advanced, and 20% expert runs, making it suitable for a wide range of skiers.
