Snow Reporter Comments: Mountain Report 5/16 9:15am Update: Summit is now open. 7:00am Update: Happy Friday! Things cleared up nicely overnight and we’ve been seeing mostly sunny skies this morning with the occasional low-lying cloud migrating through the area. We’re looking forward to another stellar day on the hill, thanks to a forecast that predicts partly sunny skies and light breezes, with a high reaching into the upper 40s. Our snowpack remains at 80” and overnight temps in the 20s set it up for firm morning conditions. Temperatures are reading just shy of freezing right now and should warm up quickly under the potent morning sun. We’ll see you soon for a day of fun laps on the spring corn. Be Advised: • Late season conditions remain present – grooming will be limited and melt out hazards may be buried under new snow. • The US Para Nordic Team will be training at the Nordic Center this morning. Their training will include the use of Biathlon rifles and targets set up at the Biathlon Range near the "Training Oval" within the Nordic Trails. Safety is paramount in the range setup and operation, and USBA-trained staff will oversee the range at all times while it is in use. There will not be any trail closures or impacts to other guests. • There will be race training on West Boundary today. • Go to West Village Lodge for food and beverage services. Sunrise and Pine Marten Lodges are closed for the season. Pine Marten restrooms remain open daily. • Park in the West Village or Skyliner lots. Sunrise parking is closed for the season. • The Interlodge Shuttle is closed for the season. Please plan accordingly for skiing/riding back to your corresponding parking lot before lifts close for the day. • Our Uphill Policy remains in effect—please adhere to marked routes and signage. After daily lift operations, uphill travel is ONLY permitted on the Cinder Cone. Heavy machinery and winch cables are deployed at various locations on the mountain and pose significant danger. For the safety of yourself and our employees, respect terrain closures. Uphill Pass armbands must be visibly displayed at all times when traveling on Mt. Bachelor uphill routes, during both operating and non-operating hours.
