Dunno why I’m writing this on the last day of the season, but Snowshoe closing out strong with a pretty deep base, little to no snow/dirt mixing. Firm and edge able in the AM  and softening up by mid-morning and for the last chair of the season. 90% groomed overnight. Western Territory was beautiful.

<p>Snowshoe Mountain, located in Pocahontas County in West Virginia, is the largest winter East Coast ski resorts in the mid-Atlantic. Two black diamond trails comprise an area called the Western Territory, boasting a 1,500-foot vertical drop, 60% pitch and 1.5 miles in length. Two distinct mountains are skiable on one lift ticket. The Village of Snowshoe features high-quality lodging, restaurants and plenty of shopping. Skiers and snowboarders will find 15 acres of expanded terrain at the Snowshoe area of the resort. Total ski resort acres are 244.</p>

The Seneca Lodge, in the north portion of the Village at Snowshoe, is the most recent addition to Snowshoe's lodging.


<p>While there aren&rsquo;t a whole lot of restaurants in the area, you can find some great places to go.</p>

<h3>Terrain</h3>
<p>Snowshoe Mountain Resort trail map includes 257 acres of skiable terrain, 60 trails and 14 lifts, and there are 3 high-speed quads (Soaring Eagle, Ballhooter and Western Express). The lift capacity is 23,400 skiers per hour. The mountain receives on average about 180 inches of snow each year. Trails are spread out pretty evenly for all types of skier from beginners to advanced, including five green trails, seven blue trails and three black diamond trails. There are also three freestyle terrain trails and one gladed area. Be sure to take advantage of the mogul runs. The base elevation is 3,348 feet, and the top elevation is 4,848 feet. To ensure that there&rsquo;s fun year-round, trails are groomed on a regular basis as well as consistent snowmaking at the resort, which can last for a long time since the average temperature at this resort is lower than others.</p>
<h3>Where Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort Located?</h3>
<p>The resort is located on Cheat Mountain. The easiest way to get to the ski resort is by car.</p>
