Snow Reporter Comments: Today at Mt Lyford 20 August 2026 — Mt Lyford is open for the 2026 season with a clear, sunny day and light winds expected. The mountain received 10 cm of snow yesterday followed by wetter snow during the day. Off-piste snow should soften as the sun warms the mountain, while the main groomed runs are being prepared for the morning. Fresh frozen snow is variable in places. The Learners, Paradise Platters and Cloudy T-Bar are scheduled to open from 9am. The Lower and Upper Terako Rope tows are currently on hold while they are untied, de-iced and dug out, with the resort hoping to bring them into operation this afternoon. The report does not provide a current status for the Stella Basin Rope. Chains are required on 2WDs and AWDs today, while 4WDs with good tyres should carry chains and fit them when required.
